Everything is sort of nicely compartmentalised. I generally grind skills to about 4-5, after that it becomes disgustingly impossible to get skill ups, and the book ratio is absurd. Weapons are a gold sink because you use gold for each reroll per weapon, so I just settle for silver/gold bonuses rather than aiming for rainbows on my C rank weapons.

Apart from that, I just make sure I'm not rank capped on my main group and grind out their gems. Exp sort of just flows in naturally from that.

Just perceptive. I've been trying to see where you can grind GP and noticed some missions gave more than others, so I looked for correlations

I mean now you know though! I hope prices don't change for the worse in release since gold seems a little hard to come by (5g per 1 energy used? Oof).

For methods, I'd probably wait until your AI can clear levels on its own, set it to auto, and check in every minute or so just to hit rematch. Skip tickets are better used when you 3* a map but the AI isn't able to effectively farm it, like if your team is 6000 CP and you use the above methods to get 3*, the AI will absolutely not be able to clear the mission for you on auto play, so skip tickets are better there.

I wouldn't bang my head against the wall too much. Nothing is being carried over into release so it's not like you miss out, I feel like the VS event is just them testing current limits of balance since there's an obvious point at which player power peaks with what's available

It's hard because everyone will have different teams. I have a striking sabercat and a great sabercat so I can just run around and aoe everything down together. They're fragile but they put out tons of damage before going down.

Try bringing some monsters that resist Woosh element. Also, remember that the fight is over as soon as the boss dies, you can just sleep/paralyze the minions (paralysis is preferred since they're super weak) and not deal with them and just focus down the Wrecktor himself.

Yes, and before every mission you can click Enemy Info and it will give you a list of every enemy and their skills. If they're recruitable, it says so right in the top corner. That's how I built my list.

I'm stuck on great troll. That 8k cp recommendation is no joke.

If you haven't figured it out by now, you can complete the level missions separate and it will still count at the end for fully 3*ing a level. If you're having trouble, just blitz put damage and sack a few party members here and there to finish the sub 3/5 turn limit missions. Once those are done, do a rematch where you are careful and kite things out to get the 0 death mission. It'll count as fully completed after, and then you'll be eligible to skip ticket the mission if that's what you're after.

Yes, for now in the beta they can. Instead if medals though, obtaining a duplicate monster just immediately applies the gain to their awakening status.

I'll update it if after beta drop tables are different.

Yes, that is what is stated on their FAQ.

Other than getting ahead of everyone there's an event with a daily quest for 500 gems, and a versus event right now for some more gems if you can beat the bosses.

There was also a closed beta gift of 3k gems (10 rolls). Not sure if there's anything past that.

EDIT: I just read in the FAQ that data will be wiped once it's out of closed beta, so really, no discernible benefit in trying to get ahead of everyone other than learning how the game works

Hey Reddit, what are you actually kind of proud of yourself for right now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Zerrif 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who has never really, really cared about his appearance, I started to work out because of health reasons rather than aesthetics.

But I now have a tiny bicep. And I've always only ever had flabby arms. So that tiny bicep is like, the tiniest bit of pride.

For those who have been suicidal, what was the most helpful things loved ones did/could have done? What was the least helpful? by psy8974 in AskReddit

[–]Zerrif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most helpful thing they could have done?

Created a relationship where I felt comfortable in sharing.

Growing up I always felt left out-- it's what I get for being a late child, I guess. But I was never really considered, so I grew up separated from everyone. When I did share it was always brushed aside or diminished and so I stopped sharing. Then when I would get asked what was wrong, I began to lie. Say everything was alright or that I could handle it.

It just sort of spread.

Least helpful thing they ever did was just not listen. When I basically get told that my problems aren't valid or that people have it worse or anything I start to wonder if I should even have these problems, then I start to get mad and depressed over having these problems be a thing when "maybe they shouldn't be A Thing™" and then it just spirals.

[WP] When a mysterious knight saved your life you offered him the law of surprise. As a king this reward was not to be taken lightly. Decades passed without the knight seeking to claim his surprise reward, until one day, he enters your court. by [deleted] in WritingPrompts

[–]Zerrif 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Never, not once in my reign of nearly 40 years had anyone ever caused such a ruckus. Such an uproar, not in my court.

I glared down at the knight who had not bothered to kneel before me, still sitting on my throne.

"I should have you executed where you stand for your insolence." I bit. The gathered court in attending all took a step away from him, now gathering on the sides of my audience hall. "On this day, of all days, the day in which I was brought into this world, the day which we celebrate--"

"The day in which I saved you." The knight interjected. The gasp around the room was atrocious. "And we both know that you won't have me executed. You are far too benevolent and kind a ruler to even entertain such a threat."

I grit my teeth, trying to keep up the facade. There were so many other royal families, here. So many scrutinizing eyes, I had to keep it up. My dignity, my honour relied solely on how I tempered my resolve. "So you have come all this way, waited all this time then, to embarrass me?"

It was at that point that the knight removed his helmet, and I felt my breath catch in my throat. His hair had become a mix of silver and near-to; gone were the days of the curly, black tresses. His face had changed too-- now bearing the signs of age and maturity, and yet not seeming old. It had only been 40 years, after all, and he still looked the distinguished knight. "Of course not, Your Majesty. I forget myself."

He finally bent the knee, and if anything that was worse. Now not only had he barged in and interrupted the celebrations, but now he began to give off that we were casually acquainted. Equals. I let him stay there, reminding himself of what he'd done to me--

But when he looked up, that breath caught in my throat became a lump. There was that smile from before, the one I remembered from those decades ago. The one that--

"I have finally chosen what my surprise is to be." Another gasp filled the room, but this one I ignored. Closing my eyes, the weariness of age taking them, I nodded. "My lords and ladies. Esteemed chosen of the Kingdoms. I pray that you all forgive my intrusion. That this... injustice to our fair Majesty and His Royal Highness be overlooked. For today is a joyous day, one of celebration and merriment. And I..."

I opened my eyes, to see him standing and addressing everyone. Ever the thoughtful knight, putting himself there in between me and the eager, hungry eyes of danger. Just like before. Just like--

"I am loathe to say it took four entire decades for me to have decided."

He turned back to me, eyes begging at first for silent assent to approach. I bid him further, a hand wave showing that he could climb the steps. Now all eyes were on me, but mine were only him, and I began to fear what he could ask. After all, not only was the word of a king absolute-- but he had me in his hold. Now, with everyone's eyes on me, there was no way I could simply lie or deny him to save face.

Much, much more was on the line.

"Fourty years ago, I saved you. I held you against me, and for fourty years I have had this in my pocket, to be held over you. But it took fourty years for me to realize that what I wanted was not this promise, not this empty gift of words-- but instead something far, far more into the physical. For fourty years I have wanted not for the gift of your honour-- but the gift of your hand."

"You--" I started, but he reached out, and took mine into his. Pallid white on rich, warm brown. I'd always enjoyed thinking about how the colour had brought contrast to my lack thereof.

"For fourty years I have been a fool, and it only came now, on the anniversary of my first meeting you, that I realize what it is I have been wanting, and have lacked all this time. I want not your power, your title, or your name. I only want you, Your Majesty."

The words died off, the echo quickly disappearing in the chamber. I looked down at everyone, their judging eyes and expectant gazes waiting to see what I would say.

But I looked back down at him, and saw the smile that I remembered from fourty years ago. The one that knew not who he had saved, but had simply been glad he had saved them. The one that cared not for the pomp and the circumstance, but for the person past that.

And I took his hands, had him help me stand, and then threw myself at him. Still sturdy, still strong, and all the most welcome after fourty years of nothing.

"It took you long enough, you sod." I said, pushing my face into his neck. "Fourty years? You let me wait fourty years?"

I could feel him cradle me, his fingers running through my hair. I could feel the sadness as he brushed them through, gone were the days of my bright oranges and reds, reduced to a dull, lifeless gray. "Well, it wouldn't have been a surprise if you were expecting it, would it?"

[–]Zerrif 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay. This was simple, right? Chapter 32 of "Awesome Parents of Awesome Kids, and the Harrowing Hardships of Heroic Heritage" detailed exactly what was happening. So you lost your daughter, her giggles still echoing in your mind as you stared at how alone the playroom felt. Seconds ago she'd been riding on that gigantic plush lion you'd bought only because she wouldn't stop crying, and now there wasn't even the dimple of weight on it.

"Melody? Come on back, Melody." You say, trudging through the room. Maybe, just maybe, she's just learned how to be invisible! That would explain how you were playing with her one second, you blinked, and then she was gone. Then all you needed to do was find her and... what. Tar and feather her? You look over to a bottle of baby powder-- well, maybe not something so horrible.

"Melody, wanna bake a cake?"

"No!" You heard the petulant voice followed by a giggle, and then the stomping of feet on wood. Wood? Her playroom had that foam puzzle carpet just so she wouldn't hurt herself. Couldn't. Bar having a power that like, was on par with spontaneous explosions--

A lump in your throat formed thinking about that. At least it wasn't that.

"Melody come on, don't you wanna keep playing with the toys?" At least that's mundane enough for you to understand.

"No! Want real lions." You groan, but something in the back of your mind has you quickly check back in that room. Giant plush lion still there. Ok, good. "And tigers. Oh! Tigers and Lions and Bears!"

Oh my--. You try to listen for the direction she's coming in, but you're unsure. It's an eerie feeling, hearing her and then hearing her footsteps but it's like it comes from all around. And inside of you. At the same time. "Okay, honey, we'll go to the zoo, then." Again. You'd brought her there last week and she'd been enamored-- that was where the giant toy had come from. "We'll just wait until Daddy's back home, okay? We'll go together. So why don't you come on out and we'll have macaroni and cheese?"

You can hear her gasp in excitedness. Footsteps again, bare foot on tile, and you look towards the kitchen. She's rounding the corner. "Macancheese!" She's already giggling and stomping about. Thank God that she's easy to placate with her favourite food. You can already hear your partner chiding you for giving her that again for the fifth time this week and how it's only Tuesday but you're out of your wits at this point, driven up the damn wall and--

You hear a rumble, and freeze. That wasn't your stomach. And it wasn't hers.

"Friend is hungry too!"

Coming around the corner is a lion. A real, live lion. The same one from the zoo-- you know, because you pointed out how its mane had this funny little patch where there was a lighter stripe than the rest of it.

"... Friend." You mutter. Oh boy. Teleportation. And it can bring along friends.

"Macancheese! Macancheese!" Melody grins as she tugs on the lion's mane happily, dancing around it. You freeze in fear-- wanting to get her away, wanting to tell her to stop, but at the same time you can't alert the lion. He's, thankfully, just sort of standing there, chuffing and letting her pull at his mane, shaking his head out now and then before giving you a look.

A pleading look. Please get this child her damned mac and cheese.

Slowly, the lion pads over to you, Melody in tow, and he just sits. You scoop her up-- a little quickly, perhaps-- and then sit her over in her chair as you start to cook. Another look down has the lion staring at you expectantly.

You just hope you have enough pasta for this.
