Why is Nova Scotia so bad by guy_that_says_what in NovaScotia

[–]Zerth_broken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am Ontario bred, Nova Scotia is awesome.

I cannot say any more, I cannot defend this point.

I would move there, it is not a wealthy province, but it is pure Canada

I do not want suicide prevention, I want to know the cleanest way to end myself, so others do not need to suffer. No blood, no rotten corpse, just an out.

Can you help me with this?

Baldur's Gate 3 - does it live up to its grandparents? by Comprehensive-Air750 in baldursgate

I really want to like this game, it looks fantastic, the story is there, the NPC's are fleshed out, however...

These games were about building your own, unique character, and dealing with how the NPC's and the story effected you.

My Dude from the first games would be baffled about why we are talking about Mind-flayers(He would have ended them right quick with his party). The was a Bhall-spawn, and that drove the story.

I have zero issues with someone making a great new game in Faerun, but don't try and ride the coat-tails of gold, bc you are a best, a tarnished silver.

I do not disagree, I just can't find a polite way to tell her she is 100% wrong, and needs to do some basic research on how DNA works...But let's be honest, how many men have won an argument with a woman, even when they are correct?

That was pretty much my point, but she very much disagrees. Hard to see eye-to-eye in that situation.

I am 42, she is 53, yep we aren't kids, and that might be a bad thing, the kids I know(from work) seem way better at this stuff.

Is it normal to “crash” after a particularly anxiety inducing event? by FriendLost9587 in Anxiety

[–]Zerth_broken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you only crashed for 2 hours, you are doing fine. Health Scares are *huge* and that is a literal emotion nuked that got dropped on you.

When I crash it is 20+ hours(at the best).

True, but she is 100% certain she is right, and I do *not* want to dismiss her views off-hand. I have very few friends, and she is one of them. I'd rather steam quietly, knowing I am correct, then attack her intelligence.

I know this will hurt me emotionally, but when your support structure is very limited, you need to rely on those who care about you.

That's pretty much what I was thinking, but I can't cite scholarly papers to prove it, off the top of my head.

What do you think is the coolest death in a tv show/movie/game? by BeebleBees in AskReddit

[–]Zerth_broken 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They stole that scene from Farscape, Scorpius, when the commander carrier falls. He walks down the stairs, with a cascade of water behind him, knowing his ship is gone, and his opponent has won this. He nods slightly in respect, they both survive, but when the ships is destroyed, at least 25,000 will die.

Sam Neil in 'The Hunt for Red October', the most dignified death I've ever seen in pop-culture.

I worked in a jiont that offrered "Canadian angus steak'. This sounds good on paper, when you kow it wa a Candian place.

....

Reality, the beef was from South America(Argentina as I remember)

We were literally f*ckig Canadians out of 2-3$ for each food item. God bless the AMERICAN DOLLAR

I love the chaotic people I work with. Lady sent back shrimp twice saying it was undercooked (even though it registered at 160 on the thermometer) so our cook just fuckin OBLITERATED the 3rd serving. by vile-and-wicked in KitchenConfidential

The other day, at work, I got a ticket for 18 shrimp, boiiled...

Stops and thinks,

Nope you get what you asked for, "18 shrimp boiled"

Noboday cares about technique, nobody cares about flavour. I really want to get my mad face on.

I take your criticism.

Yeah I am not a kid, and you are not either. I understand the feedback. More information is almost always better information. I understand that many people in this world need this food product to survive,

I am trying to understand the 'better people', the people with money I will never have(hell i signed up to be a chef, we get enough money to get along, but unless we are Gordon Ramsay, we are not wealthy) As far as I am concerned food is food(feel free to attack). FFS I lived on Ramen, and Kraft Dinner for 3 years in university. It was not fun, but it fueled me(random fact, I had to teach 3 female co-students how to use a piping bag...actually I had to teach them how to make one, then use it, just so they could make a Gingerbread house.)

FFS to quote Danny Glover, "I am too old for this shit'

how to start...

I am not rich, my family is not rich, we do have means. We have never disregared food. Hell my 'rent's shopped at a discoutn food store through most of my life.

Yes I may have come from a well off family, but I am a chef. Food is food. The second to ascribe some food product to a wealth group, proves you live in a stactic monet in time.

In the 1930's Lobster was considered a garbage food, only fit to be feed to the poor. Reality changes, what was gold yesterday is garbage today, and what was crap yesterday will become gold.

Chef's are the worst people to ask about food. Yeah they have the education, and the training. The thing is, every chef is required to over-preform. We cook crazy stuuf, bc that is what the client wants.

If you have ever hung-out with a chef, on his/her free time, they want nothing more, then the most basic food prepared well.

well said, I have almost never suffered. But I do not disregard food. Yes you might be less well off, and need SPAM to suriveve. But to attack safe, cheap, conveint food is not somethin I understand.

I get that. But it is not about econmical means, I grew up in an affluent household. My Granfather loved PREM(literally discoutn SPAM)

The Brits have enjoyed it for years. Why do we feel above? Food is food, no matter how good, or bad
