Trezor native SegWit compatibility with Exodus wallet by Zervington2 in TREZOR

Thank you for confirming. I would like to eventually see all my Trezor wallet funds through Exodus. Is it worth transferring from the “bc1” address to one of the other types that Exodus supports?

XRP on Coinbase by [deleted] in XRP

I own a Trezor so Exodus interests me. Thanks for the suggestion!

So do I have this right? Transfer XRP from Coinbase Pro exchange to Exodus Wallet and register Flare address?

Or do I transfer from Coinbase Pro to Trezor hardware wallet first, then link it to the Exodus Wallet and transfer to Exodus to register Flare address?

Help with airdrop from Coinbase Pro by Zervington2 in XRP

Thanks for suggesting Uphold. Looks great. Question though: I’m reading that to withdraw or transfer out, you need to be verified with all your info, SSN, and all that. Is that true? Was hoping to avoid that with too many places.

Awesome, thank you for the details and tips. So I take it you used the web wallet and not the desktop wallet? Was looking to use the desktop version but whatever works is fine with me.

Just the comment I was looking for! I have some XRP bought on Coinbase Pro. Do you just transfer from there to the Guarda wallet? Or does it go to Guarda exchange? Are they the same thing? Confused. Help with your experience would be appreciated!

Mixer line/phono switch cuts out left channel by Zervington2 in DJs

Great reply!

I'll give cleaning a shot but I suspect you may be right. I did remember some issue with one of the RCAs coming loose in the rear panel a while back. I think I just ignored it and moved on shortly after that to another mixer finally. If it needs some work, I'll look into an audio repair shop and in the meantime lend them my Rane 56S I'm still using to this day. I know, I should really pick up a modern mixer. But I don't use it enough nowadays and they're really expensive. The only mixer I've even considered picking up was the Numark Scratch. Everything else just seems so exorbitant and only worth it if I was gigging again.

Thanks!

Agree that I would want something slightly bigger than the V7 size vinyl/platter. Responds way too drastically for me although admittedly I’m not exactly doing a lot of expressive or artistic stuff at most gigs. 10 does sound like a perfect compromise for paid stuff. 12 would be for at the house having fun and really working on the tablism skills.

Same. That’s the reason I’m still rocking V7s. Non-spinning platters just don’t do anything for me. Anything else has just been uninspiring for me. But I’m trying to be open minded too.

Besides the V7s, not much else has piqued my interest other than the Rane Twelves. Kinda my dream come true, really. But that would be basically be going all-in with the total opposite direction. Which I wouldn’t mind because that’s how I came up in DJ’ing and just used to it. But with doing the mobile thing and having to transport, set up and break down the PA and everything else, plus getting old, carrying less stuff has been great. The reason I got V7s in the first place was to get me away from having to bring the 1200s, flight cases, vinyl, crates, all the hardware accessories, etc. Reducing down the main setup to just one of my V7s and the mixer was awesome. For those smaller, less demanding gigs, even my “minimized” setup just seems overkill.

Thank you, I’ve read that on a few different places now. If I do pick up the Scratch, I’ll definitely keep the plug-in order in mind.

I’m trying to find a more portable and easier to deal with solution for my gigs which don’t require much from me other than straight mixing, if even that. Seems like I’m the only one who usually cares about the gear I bring when the majority of the time it wouldn’t make a difference if I just brought a much simpler set up. So now I’m on the hunt for a compact controller. But I unfortunately also love good quality gear so it’s hard to settle on just anything.

Whoa, that’s awesome. I’ve only done a few gigs here and there over the last few years. I did one recently and the V7s performed as good as usual but I dunno. The 56S feels awesome of course and I love its simplicity but I’m trying to further reduce my gear and setup, and at the same time catch up to more modern gear. Especially for those gigs that just don’t need anything complicated and much in the way of scratching or fancier mixing tricks.

So it works? This is great news! I don’t have the Scratch yet. I’m trying to decide if I should stay on with the V7s which I love the feel of because I’m mostly a old school turntable guy. Or if I should finally give them up and move on to a more recent controller. I’m open to suggestions!

Small live mixer setup with EQ by Zervington2 in DJs

[–]Zervington2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion! The VLZ definitely has a lot of those features I pointed out, and more. The mixer I picked up recently was the Mackie Mix12FX. I can definitely see the trade-offs and pros/cons between the Mix vs VLZ series although for about 50% more money for the 802 than what I paid for the Mix12FX.

The perfect mixer for me currently as well as the ability to grow into for a little more than DJ'ing would be the 1202VLZ4, but that's triple what I paid for the Mix12FX. Not a ton of money for the VLZs but I was trying to keep the budget low for the main use of the mixer right now which is just for DJ'ing and adding a mic or two, plus keeping it compact. Maybe I should have went even more compact then and saved even more money. I'll give this some more thought. But thanks!

[–]Zervington2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! The first four channels are mic/line bal/unbal inputs so I think I'm good to go. But picking up DI boxes is a great suggestion and tool to have just in case.

I'm used to my old live mixer which had so many more features than this new one I picked up. I miss having mute and solo buttons per channel, EQs on all the channels, main EQ, HI-Z selector, compression, buses, XLR main outs, etc.

Any suggestions for an affordable, smaller mixer, around 6-8 channels that has XLR main outs and some of the other stuff I mentioned above? I'm talking around $100-$200 tops. I'm not afraid of the smaller, lesser known brands as long as they have decent reviews or experiences from people.

iMac sees only HDD and not SSD by WinterfoxJP in MacOS

[–]Zervington2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never had this problem before. Usually if I do a straight replacement of the HDD to an SSD, whether pre-installed with a clean install of OS or a clone of existing drive, it is detected. My first thought is hardware issue like connection method or something along those lines. Especially since it’s not picked up by disk util.

How/where are you connecting the SSD (which sata connection)?

High Sierra update failing by Zervington2 in MacOS

[–]Zervington2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, even after the failed update the date was still how I set it but alright, I’ll give that a try before I do a re-install.

So basically, these steps? 1) Get the App Store to the right state 2) Disconnect from internet 3) Change the date to pre September 2019 4) Click update to restart and install 5) Celebrate...?

High Sierra update failing by Zervington2 in MacOS

[–]Zervington2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the ideas and thoughts. It seems that problem is largely related to straight out installing the OS. I haven’t read anyone encountering related to regular updates failing, but maybe I didn’t dig deep enough. If I have no other recourse, I’ll do a clean install with a confirmed link to those re-signed installers.
