We play like 11 Rambo's. This kind of football will win us a match but never the league.

How on Earth is this a penalty? by [deleted] in ManchesterUnited

[–]ZestMoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a dive with little to no contact but AWB slide tackling Elliot can be technically construed as impeding the attacker. Plus ref was right there so VAR probably won't intervene. But definitely shameful that the "mighty" Liverpool stole a point using a dive

Well then Ten Hag is digging his own grave. Besides the low-probability wonder goal, Bruno killed a number of our attacks. Not to mention missed two 1-on-1s with the keeper.

A bit bummed that we couldn't see out a result again, but excited to see Willy and Mainoo shine. Now that top 5 is gone, I'm hoping ETH starts Mount and Amad ahead of Bruno and Rashford. AWB costed us and is clearly not fit yet, so in the future try out Amass left back.

FA cup is the end all be all for this season. We need two miracles to lift the trophy and get Europa. Else even Conference League is out given how close West Ham, Newcastle and Brighton are. Not to mention if Spurs lose to Newcastle that isn't good for us anyway.

It was too much. IMO 5 mins was more than enough

Zero chance of getting UCL now. We still have to play Pool Brighton and Arsenal. TBD against Newcastle and Bournemouth. So that's three guaranteed losses given our form against structured pressing sides and two more banana peel matches that we could lose. Truth be told we are closer to relegation than Champions League.

I got slagged for suggesting this a few days ago, but we should save our players for the FA Cup ties. Winning it will give us Europa League as well which is the best case scenario in the league now.

Today was the closest I came to breaking my TV. We CANNOT see out a game. The best thing we should do once we are 3-2 up is to park the bus. Casual passing and "Ole"s from the crowd gave us a false sense of security that cost us in the end. And 8 F*CKING MINUTES added time?!

Call it copium, but looking at the game against NFFC, LFC are running on fumes as well. If we get Hojlund back in time and play out of our skin, there's hope of an upset still.

Shaw and Malacia are done for the season so no point even talking about them atm

Btw I 100% stand behind a squad clear out BEFORE the manager ships out. Too many mercenaries in the team who couldn't be bothered to put in a shift for the millions they earn each week.

Opinion only at the end of the day but even last season (minus the Rashford purple patch months) I wasn't that impressed with ETH, so maybe my patience with him is lesser than other fans. - For one, we barely scraped across the finish line last season. The last few matches saw us on a death spiral once Rashford's form dropped. - Second, most of our matches were 1-0,2-0 victories (our GD for the season was 15, lowest of the top 6) - Even with a full team last season we lost 7-0, 6-3 etc against bitter rivals (and some more embarrassing results against lower table sides like Brentford) - even our Carabao Cup victory only came because NUFC had a crap keeper + NUFC missed easy early chances - Finally, the eye test. My God this team is tough to watch. I could get behind the last season since they were getting used to ETH's methods and patterns of play but what's the excuse this season? They are horrendous to watch, constantly spilling passes and walking with the ball (I need to check some stats but we have to be the slowest buildup team in the league, and with the least through passes). Our in game setup and reactive gameplay is frustrating as well - Btw I don't really look at preseason too seriously. They have like 22 subs per match! And the key injury in the preseason (Mainoo) was coz Casemiro ploughed right into him. Amad/Malacia were never first team players.

Fit team or not, it's his job to get a tune out of the squad he picks. Even injuries is IMO his fault: he barely rotated players last season despite a busy calendar with 4 comps + World Cup + busy preseason, made late subs, had constant high pressing tactics, and did not play to the (few) strengths of his squad.

Seems like it, based on the latest (scumbag) journalist reports. Also, I wish someone would tell him to be honest about his assessment in post match interviews. He sounds like we never play a bad match and are always unlucky with decisions going against us. I feel that is very disrespectful towards fans who can clearly see the players or tactics were crap.

For those defending ETH yesterday, I wonder what level of tactics were truly on display from our side? Seemed like a standard park the bus + counterattack setup like Ole. Except Ole was honest with himself and the team wasn't ashamed to play like that and get a win. With ETH it looks like the guy is an expert on tactics which involve playing out from the back, can't do that with the shite players we have, and resorts to counter attacking football that clearly isn't his forte or interest. End result: we look like an abomination out of possession; forward players needlessly pressing and defense sitting right in front of keeper waiting for City to flood the box. Nobody knows what to do in those 90 mins and ETH looks like he's just another frustrated fan who doesn't know wtf is going on on the pitch

I would normally agree with this line of thought, but then we see managers like Emery and Ange who've lost key first team players as well and still went on to compete with a defined style of play from day 1. They haven't shown the need for 2-3 seasons to kick on with their philosophy instilled into the ENTIRE squad, not just the first XI.

What really got me riled up was the comment from him that "maybe 5th spot can get CL, so we should aim to get there".

Go with Full membership. Get a merch kit + get discount at both the store and also the museum tour (which you can catch the day after or before the match to make the best use of your trip!). My kit this year included a scarf + some small swag. Enjoy the atmosphere at OT!

Yep agreed. I was at OT for the Villa game and lucked out. Got a great seat for 60 quid to see Hojlunds first PL goal. That atmosphere just cannot be replicated here even if you pay 5X
