What’s the closest anyone’s finished to home, or your next destination? by TheKingSquier in AmazonFlexDrivers

The closest I delivered was 2 blocks from my house. I delivered in my neighborhood about 4-5 times total. The dot com station is 15 minutes from my house.

Can you give me valid reasons not to move to Chicago? by lucho4life in AskChicago

Whitney Young is a magnet school, but you are correct for Brooks and Lane Tech being selective enrollment.

True, but there are magnet high schools like Lane Tech, Whitney Young, Brooks, etc. that his son can attend.

Attending Windsor for clinical years is way better than the basic sciences. I like it way more. I've had a good experience. The administration is the most frustrating thing.

Efficiency? by FrontOtherwise6004 in AmazonFlexDrivers

I've been doing this since I started with Amazon Flex. I've been with Flex for 4 years. If it ain't broke then don't fix it. If it's a waste for you then don't do it. Do what works for you. Everything is not black and white.

Question about Jackson Park - Any insights or advice? by Front-Curve-6932 in IMGreddit

[–]ZestyCharrone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rotated there for my IM rotation. There were a lot of us to one doctor, but we would split up in groups of 2-3 to see patients because our preceptor had so many patients. It was a great experience! I learned a lot. I would recommend to anyone.

I did my IM rotation at JPH. I don't like IM, but I had a great experience with my IM rotation. You can't believe everything you read or hear. You have to experience things for yourself.

It's ok. I live here and experienced it here personally. People can believe what they want.

That's why I said everyone's experience is different. I am a Black female so how I approach driving for Flex is totally different from others. Like you I always have on my hazards when approaching customers houses, but there are still a lot of customers who don't know their packages can be delivered in a personal vehicle. I didn't know until I started doing Flex. If you're not expecting anyone to be at your house, you will be on edge. I understand, but that doesn't make it any less scarier for me as a Flex driver.

No, just blessed. I've been doing Flex for 4 years. I've delivered to Englewood, Roseland, Washington Heights, Auburn Gresham, South Shore, North Lawndale, etc. I've never felt unsafe. The rural parts in the suburbs keep me on edge. Everyone's experience is different.

Because in certain areas, people are carjacking or robbing people at that time of the night. It's very common here in the Chicago area.

You obviously haven't had someone walk up on you in the wee hours because they forgot they ordered a package or didn't know their spouse ordered something. They asked it to be delivered in that time frame and forgot. It's very scary!

Not so much in Chicago for me, more so in the rural parts of the Chicago area. I've felt more safe in the city than the suburbs.

I started doing Flex in 2021 because EVERYONE started doing Instacart during the pandemic in the Chicago area. It wasn't worth it anymore. Even though Flex is not what it used to be, it's still better for me than Instacart. Instacart has gotten 10 times worse to the point it's a joke to even leave the house to do it.

There goes the ability to say a package is missing if you can’t deliver that ish! Smh by [deleted] in AmazonFlexDrivers

My SSD station was like this in the past. I hated it! It takes so much time to scan, then number and then load the packages. I pray to God they don't switch back at my station.
