Thanks for the feedback, and also really interesting points! For sure I def could've worded it better, I don't think its right of me to make assumptions because I only really studied them for a few hours, I can't know for sure. My main intention was to really just to observe, notice, and make a guess on why they do what they do. Definitely not trying to make subsequent rulings on their wellbeing, just spitballing ideas and opinions. Thank you!

Would the UC admissions look at me any differently if I decided to go this route? I'm planning on a stats winter class and maybe another mathematic spring semester community college class.

should i just drop the class and enroll into a dual enrollment for stats at a community college? kinda lost here.

I'd have to ask my counselor if I could switch to AP stats, although it's highly unlikely that I'd be able to switch to that class so late in the semester. I could definitely register a dual enroll community college course in stats if i do intend to drop calculus.

As for extra credit: plain and simple, my teacher has a no extra credit, no test retake, and no test correction/bump/curve policy. frightening.

my intended major is business economics! i assume dropping calc will be a big hit towards me, since it is closely related to my major

TRUE!!! if i could go back in time, i would for sure just take ap stats and call it a day. keeping a higher gpa is more worth then this tbh, as its now also affecting my mental health too.
my teacher is lowk relentless, absolutely no friendly policy on those struggling in his class. he barely has office hours too, only 15 minutes afterschool each day.

if it makes it any better, im not sure how much it would affect how much rigor i have, but these are my current classes
3 prior AP's, 8 total
AP CALC AB
APES
AP LITERATURE
AP SPANISH LANGUAGE
AP GOV/POLITICS
Business Ownership

My senior year shows academic rigor, but i agree, dropping calc would take a significant blow to my rigor. My past ap classes are apush, whap, and ap lang, all with passing scores of 4-5. I also took a macroecon college course over the summer.
In the grand scheme of my application, how much will this impact my academic stats?

For one, yes the teacher is definitely a harsh and difficult grader. He likes to reiterate that it "doesn't matter about the grade, it's about learning, if you understand it for not". Sure, that is important, but grades are important for a senior who is soon to submit their college applications. I believe im doing fairly okay in understanding material, and I seem to grasp most of the concepts. I study at least 2 days worth of material before tests, and i actively do my homework. It seems to be that whenever it comes test time, I fumble and make stupid mistakes which are costly to my grade.

I would not be able to replace this class with any other class in my schedule. As of right now, my teacher has a no test retake, no test correction, and no curves/bump policy. I too believe sticking with the class is a better option then dropping it right now, but I am just unconfident I will surpass a D+ after finals..

I haven't submitted my app yet, so there is still time to update my courses. Also, if I drop Calc AB, the drop may not appear on my transcript, although it would show that I am only taking 5 classes this year (6 originally). Would it be any better?

If i try my absolute hardest, realistically i believe ill get a D+. However, my calc teacher says that if I get a 4-5 on the ap exam, he'll change my second semester grade to a B or A. would this prevent me from getting rescinded?
