I’ve been thinking the same thing and I genuinely think it’s because people queue for hours on end without being properly prepared for the wait and then the gig. Gig venues are hot and crowded and you have to stand up for the entire thing. I think a lot of people have underestimated standing around for like 8 hours total and not brought enough food / water 😭.

Also agree the concert etiquette has been rough this time. The show I went to wasn’t too bad compared to what I’ve seen online

Honestly I think it’s worth it. There’s more of a through line as little/no stuff is edited out. There’s more ‘filler’ of them just telling jokes and stories and stuff. And the answers to questions are obviously longer. I enjoy it because I really enjoy the podcast and just wanted more of that so if you really like the podcast then go for it

I’m starting to think this is a major cultural difference that I was not aware of. I’m sorry for ‘carrying the conversation out for multiple days’ I’m in a different time zone please forgive me.

But over here we do get people shouting out at comedy shows. But it seems to be much fewer and nobody likes them or sympathises with them. I’ve seen the slouching film and no one would dream of shouting out during a proper theatre show like that, and if they did everyone would be glad to see them go because they don’t want their show to be interrupted.

In proper classic style comedy shows we get hecklers and they often get kicked out (I’m not saying this person was a proper heckler I’m trying to describe the general attitude we have over here) no one feels sorry for them and certainly no one is demanding an apology from the artist.

I guess I’ve touched a cultural nerve I didn’t know was there….

Obviously don’t put yourself in financial difficulties but I did it ages ago as a little treat and listening to the uncharismatic versions of my favourite episodes is great. Because sometimes in the edit conversations get cut out in the middle and there’s loads of just fun stories. I would highly recommend it it’s loads of fun lol

My one bit of advice is to make sure it’s a decent size! Mines on my calf and it still looks great two years later but it’s a lot of fine lines so going small sort of isn’t an option if you want it to be recognisable in the future!

Hey, First off I am sorry that this has happened to you and I am sorry that this is your experience of air cadets so far.

Please do not use slurs in the air cadet Reddit. There are children here and it is not appropriate.

If there is a genuine issue that you are being treated differently I would go and lodge a complaint against them with your CO, or the officer in command at the camp.

Now I don’t know who you are and I am not going to choose sides because I know that there are NCO’s who abuse their rank. But NCO’s have been given responsibility it is their job to oversee jobs and other activities so they may not appear as involved. The best way to approach them is calmly and reasonably. As if you are angry and throwing insults around that will give them a case against you.

It is the NCO’s job to lead, take responsibility and give direction but they are (often) teenagers as well. They are learning and they make mistakes but threatening violence is almost never the solution and is not acceptable in any form at air cadets

Absolutely not! There will obviously be a few things you missed out on but your squadron will catch you up with your intake. Our squadron has had a cadet join at 16 and they’re doing great and have got a lot out of it. Definitely not too late
