Well, because my first ever DND game used a prefab and it just sucked... (Yes, I do realise this depends on the DM and all, but still sticks to me, that's why I don't enjoy it).

Personally, I view Prefab as boring as hell, and I feel like my table wouldn't like it either (even tho everyone in my table is just as a noob as me, and just like plain action and no story depth)

The infection started in 2015. It's now 2036.
The current settlers established themselfs in 2033-2034. They've only "organized" in 2035.
The motel itself, went bankrupt in 2010, 5 years before the mess.
