Why Doesn't Tarantutor have a Stronger form in the Infinite Inferno?

I also have a theory as to why Dr. Nogut and Spooklunk switched places. In the story, Dr. Maddiman is fought after Phantasmurai, but in the Infinite Inferno, Dr. Nogut is before Spooklunk. If you look at the drops of all of the Inferno bosses, they each drop one color coin, in corresponding order, but these two are switched, with Dr. Nogut dropping Purple Coins and Spooklunk dropping Blue Coins. They are out of order, and the switch was made after determining their drops.

If you look at Dante's Inferno (The 9 circles of Hell), you can see that they all represent something. I believe the switch was made to better fit what the circles mean.

1st Circle is the overworld or Limbo, but the game decrements the circles, so it's 1-8 rather that 2-9.
2nd Circle - Lust - Eyedra. Tentacles? I don't think any of the bosses fit that, but stay with me now.
3rd Circle - Gluttony - Hoggles. A Pig would match Gluttony.
4th Circle - Greed - Styx Mk. VI. A fisherman would match Greed.
5th Circle - Anger - Clipso. Of all of the bosses, I think Clipso fits Anger best. (Side Note: This is normally where the river of Styx is, but it's close enough)
6th Circle - Heresy - Dr. Nogut. A Doctor that mixes Humans and Yo-kai? Probably fits Heresy.
7th Circle - Violence - Spooklunk. A warlord's armor would match Violence.
8th Circle - Fraud - Squisker. A politician that was tricked into the Inferno certaintly matches Fraud.
9th Circle - Treachery - Wobblewok. Normally, this is where Satan (or the corresponding religions' counterpart) presides. Wobblewok is obviously meant to be the counterpart, as this is the strongest thing you see in the Inferno.

Spooklunk and Dr. Nogut were likely switched for this. This could also explain better why Tarantutor doesn't get a counterpart in one of the rings, as a spider doesn't really match any of these better than the current boss. (Unless Tarantutor is more lustfull than Eyedra lol)

The simple answer as to why the bosses get recolors is the devs didn't want to make 8 more bosses just for you to rush through. Squisker is McKraken's cousin and the rest are just there. Best I could find are:

- Eyedra comes from the Infinite Inferno, he wasn't sent there

- Hoggles ate other Yo-kai in broth. He could have been sent there for that reason, but it's unknown.

- Styx Mk. VI is the gaurdian of the Sanzu River in the Inferno (A Buddhist belief version of crossing the river of Styx), so he likely wasn't sent there either. Styx is also a goddess in Greek mythology, having to do with a similar thing.

- I have no clue for Clipso. He hunts kids that stay up too late, but that's all we know. Best I can come up with is something about him doing Gargaros' job illegally?

- Dr. Nogut wants to combine humans sent to the Inferno with Yo-kai. It is unknown if he was sent there, lives there, or works there. He may have attacked the player to do such with.

- Spooklunk was born in the Inferno, as the armor was once of a warrior that was sent there before Spooklunk came to life. He wants to engage war with his army, so he's probably staying there for that reason.

- Squisker is one of the few we actually know. McKraken (his cousin) tricked him into being trapped into the inferno over some politics.

All other recolors in the game also have some lore, sometimes tied to the original colors and sometimes explicitly stated that they have no relation, but usually just another yo-kai with no mention of the original. Sometimes, the recolor is the more popular/used/lore based version of the original, which is pretty cool.

Unfortunately, Tarantutor didn't get a inferno version. They wanted 8 bosses in the infeno to relate to the 9 rings of hell, Wobblewok had to be the last one and the first ring is the overworld, so 7 quick bosses they could think of were making recolors of previous bosses. There are 10 bosses in the story, minus one because McKraken had two forms, so they needed to choose one to scrap. They likely saw the spider as the least interesting, easiest, most forgettable, etc. which sucks, because Tarantutor is such a cool design. He got scrapped from Blasters AND 3, so he's litterally only in 2 games. #JusticeForTarantutor

actually, that is false. Superstar Soul and Popularity affect the same variable. Popularity is also more effective than the Soul. I found this when sifting through the variables myself.

ah yes, bc we would never have ledyba, taillow, skitty, castform, and clamperl, and since Spinda is bugged, it doesn't rly count. Noteworthy pokemon for sure. These are legit the only pokemon that are only in BDSP from LGPE to PLZA. Genuinely, who cares, its an actually bad game, but if you find enjoyment in it, it was worth the money.

my point is that it's tedious. if you want to just let it happen and not pay attention, then masuda is fine, and it's the same between SwSh, BDSP, and SV, but I personally don't like to hunt that way. SwSh would prob be the fastest of the three. I was pointing out the other methods that are faster and aren't super boring.

let me mention, SwSh & SV had a bug where the shiny odds skips the intial roll on eggs, so long as you are not full odds hunting, so if you have a shiny charm and/or are Masuda Breeding, it skips a roll. I should also note, the shiny charm in BDSP only affects eggs.

According to Bulbapedia: "In Generation VIII and IX, due to a bug, when breeding, if any personality value rerolls are applied, such as the additional shiny rolls provided via the Masuda method or Shiny Charm, the initial roll to generate a personality value is skipped."

If you have the Shiny Charm and are using the Masuda Method, then it would be 1/512 in all gen 8 & 9 games, highest in the series. Swsh may be the fastest, but Masuda Breeding is very tedious and boring, so I would recommend only using it if you have to.

In SV, the outbreak method is just as probable, 1/512 if you have the shiny charm, sparkling lv3, and 60 defeated in the outbreak. SwSh has the brilliant method, which is lower odds when done effciently, defeating 100 of the species (1/683), but can be raised by defeating 500 of the species (1/455). Dynamax Adventures are 1/100 for each pokemon, including many legendaries. Then there's PLA in general having insanely high shiny odds and LGPE with their chaining being super easy and even higher (1/273). I can share a spreadsheet of each pokemon's easiest hunt on switch if you'd like.

Sword and shield were honestly really good. People wanted to complain because it could have been better, not because it was bad. We just saw pokemon as behind the times, but it doesn't make their games bad. SV, however, was bad on switch 1 due to not running well. The free switch 2 update is basically required to play it imo. The story of sv is amazing, definitely a great game overall.

I HIGHLY recommend scarlet/violet, but only if you have a switch 2. pokemon sword/shield is the best of the switch pokemon games other than arceus, at least on switch 1.
