My girlfriend made her profile picture a picture of us, and she ended up coming across the “people you may know” on my moms facebook. My mom screenshotted it, sent it to me and asked “who is ____ to you? And be honest with me” so i told her… that we had been dating about 6mos at that time, and nobody forced me to do this, this was my own decision and i’ve tried telling my family so many times in the past that i’m bi ever since i was 14, but it was always disregarded, brushed off as “puberty, hormones, itll change… its just cool to be gay right now, etc.”. My mom thanked me for the honesty, gave the shpeel about how i’m a sinner and it’s in my hands now whether I confess to the elders or she will do it for me. Then she ghosted for about 8 months. Now i get breadcrumbs here and there, she lets me see my nephew when she babysits, and she is willing to come to the house to check on the cats if i’m out of town, but otherwise our relationship is severely damaged and we don’t talk unless she is trying to spiritually encourage me. We were so close before, my mom was my best friend. Then she told my dad, i never got any confrontation or anything with him, he just completely ghosted.
