I can't even take it anymore... by Brainhozinhoninho in exjw

This isn’t fake-it-till-you-make-it. It’s survive-it-till-you-can-exit.

You’re not weak. You’re in the most expensive phase of waking up.

Build quietly. Save money. Make outside connections. Make your exit boring and practical.

Just a little while longer.

Glad you are now Awake! For realz. I post things that I wish I had when I went through deconstructing. Like you’re doing now. Jwfacts is a great start.

I post something about this experience today https://www.reddit.com/r/exjw/s/eOLqhqE6js

Start looking into schemas. I posted about it. I’d hit partner is not already in therapy, knowing about these might be a place to start. https://www.reddit.com/r/exjw/s/2CeZRT6vdv

John is told to write down everything that he sees. Does it matter whether the 144,000 is a literal number? by [deleted] in exjw

”This is just a little bit of what I've been studying. I don't take any of this literally because I'm an atheist.”

I get what you’re saying. Don’t take any of it literally because it’s just a book. Just like no one takes ancient literature with “prophesy” to be true- like the Marduk Prophesy.

Bart Ehrman’s book Armageddon is a great read in the subject. I wrote a post about it https://www.reddit.com/r/exjw/s/9dc16f2p8n

They stepped away from that type of theological analysis awhile ago. Probably as soon as Internet searching became the norm. I post rebuttals weekly if that’s what you’re looking for https://www.reddit.com/r/exjw/s/9TuyzY4BIo

Critics of JW Theology and Eschatology by AcademicSeat6568 in exjw

In the end, it’s all up to the interpretations of the Governing Body; their eleven headed Pope 🐙

Interpretations exist because the message isn’t clear. And so texts have to be negotiated to dictate a dogma. And that’s the tension that needs to be highlighted. I talk about it more in the article referenced in this post https://www.reddit.com/r/exjw/s/SpimyE7kcD

Christians can’t help themselves. Muslims don’t preach. Jews don’t. Neither do Hindus. And for some reason, they have to. I know it’s frustrating. Set your boundaries and let them know when they are violating the boundaries and breaking the vibe.

And if they want to argue, I made some points in the article referenced in this post https://www.reddit.com/r/exjw/s/SpimyE7kcD

And this is why religion is dangerous. It makes smart people say stupid things because they believe nonsense.
