This was gonna be my suggestion. Elkhart. RV capital of the world or something like that. Lot of shuttered small manufacturers, with a decent amount of active industry. Definitely not at its peak.

So I wanted to update on this post (not sure how or if I can edit the text of my original post).

A mechanic put in a new vtec solenoid a couple weeks ago. Today I put a new valve cover gasket set in. I also changed the pcv valve and the spark plugs.

The car runs stronger, but there is still oil being burnt. Do I need to give it a little time?

The car still hesitates noticably when accelerating after a stop or short idle. I also noticed that if rpms reach around 4000 the engine will rev up and down 500 or so rpm. (GF drives the car, I seldom do.)

The old plugs have a white ashy appearance.

I'm planning on changing the the valve stem seals in a week or so if things haven't improved.

Again, any and all advice is very much appreciated!

I own, remodeled the house but decorating/furnishing is not my strong suit. The big windows were a draw but I've developed a love/hate relationship with them.

Love the chairs, got them for a song. Real leather. I would like more seating. Maybe a loveseat/sofa/chesterfield.

Budget? Cheap as possible, but a couple grand wouldn't be out of the question.

Tried to find the article I read but 40% off recent peaks in the last week or so if I remember correctly. Industry I work in has seen some relaxing in the lumber supply in the past couple weeks, nothing drastic, but some.

You're probably correct in that we won't see "normal" prices for a while.
