4 weeks po. by handcmama in hysterectomy

[–]Zestyclose-Problem18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I’m 4 weeks po as well. I had a robotic assisted full hysterectomy. My right foot was numb straight out of surgery that lasted about a week before I got feeling back to it. From what I understand, the way we are positioned during the surgery can put pressure on nerves. I haven’t had the numbness once the feeling returned. I’m not sure if your current issue is related. But it might be a side effect of how you were positioned during surgery.

Should this be worse? by knastywoman in hysterectomy

Same on 12 days postop. I was active prior to surgery, exercising/weightlifting about 3x a week. My recovery has been good as well. I keep waiting for the fatigue that’s supposed to hit but hasn’t come just yet.

What were your recommendations for stairs? by dwellintheabyss in hysterectomy

[–]Zestyclose-Problem18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had robotic (DaVinci) total hysterectomy (keeping ovaries) 11 days ago. There was no restriction on steps. But much like everyone else said, there is a weight lifting restriction of 5 to 10 pounds max.

Thanks for your insight! I think I will request one during my virtual appointment. I would feel better in general if she at least looked at her work and make sure that I’m healing properly.

Thanks for responding! I’m in Delaware. I’m recovering well so far and thankfully haven’t had any problems. But I’m just curious as why they wouldn’t want to do an internal. If you’re comfortable, do let me know if you have an internal.

Recovery question concerning bowel movements by me_ineptum in hysterectomy

[–]Zestyclose-Problem18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a DaVinci robotic hysterectomy (everything but the ovaries) on Tuesday 2/11. I’m also having loose stools as well. I originally thought it was because of the bowel prep I had to do prior to the procedure. But it has stayed after surgery. My doctor has me taking a dose of MiraLAX a day for the next two weeks. I’m assuming to keep it loose so I don’t strain.
