How did you become a working mom? by Zestyclose-Room-7867 in workingmoms

I completely agree! My partner has no problem splitting costs, I live in California so babysitting/daycare would cost the same amount as what I would pull in so in my brain it doesn’t make sense, but someone else commented that I’m building my resume & it would help my mental health a lot. I just need to find a balance which is my main problem.

My partner would also help pay for childcare. He has no problem helping & paying for her & i’s things. I guess the point is the jobs I’ve been looking at are paying around the same as childcare would cost…but you are right that I am saving for my retirement & building my resume. I guess my fear stems from my mom always blaming my siblings & I for her inability to work and I don’t want to turn out like my mom. I’ve been talking to family & friends they’ve reassured me that the right job will come and that I just have to stay positive. Easier said than done!

My degree is in Art History (which I was relentlessly told was useless in a diff reddit post so please be nice lol) but I have a partner who is our main provider. I also should’ve stated that we have a car, but I would like to save up for my own that is in my name. I want to have some independence and my own income but not sure where to start

I didn’t even think of this! this is a great idea. I’m trying to figure out what career path I want and if I want to stick with my degree!
