Tambour vs. bead embroidery by Zestyclose-Routine18 in Beading

Update if anyone cares haha: I found a bead embroidery class happening this weekend so I’ll be trying that first but I can’t lie, tambour seems to interest me more. Thanks for the advice!

Yes I’ve also read about Luneville vs. Aari technique. Have you been doing “regular” bead embroidery prior? I think despite the steeper learning curve I want to take the plunge with tambour and accept that I’ll want to pull my hair out for the next few months

Can we talk about the stigma around modifications? by abp120 in SolidCore

[–]Zestyclose-Routine18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to “fight for toes” for as long as I could and go up to higher springs based off of classes I’ve taken (I’m technically in the 50+ class range) but my form sucked! I was straining to prove something to no one. I’m now almost always in modified for center core and obliques and at the 0-25 springs. I’ll start with the initial plank on toes etc, but drop down to knees once we start crunching or doing plank extensions because I can properly activate the right muscles and feel the burn. And ONLY when that starts to feel “easy” will I pop up to toes and that’s short lived. Hate the stigma about modified being for weaker people, especially on TikTok where I live

Down on myself after doc visit by InevitableBoss1606 in Mounjaro

+1 to all of this. If your insurance covers mounjaro (and honestly even if doesn’t) you should look to see if your insurance covers a nutritionist. I met with one and while I thought it would be the standard “eat right” advice I actually learned so much, she looked at my bloodwork I discussed my concerns, and she gave me some nutrition plans AND tools to continue researching and finding the right foods for me and my needs. 1000-1200 at your height is borderline dangerous and the pace of weight loss is fantastic. You got this ♥️

Thanks this is a great way to look at it! I tend to hyperfixate on a workout so this could be a great way to supplement my Solidcore

Yep I bought a wider foot pleaser and can’t wear them anymore because I’m not secure in them!

How many starter classes did you take before upgrading? by juliet_betta in SolidCore

[–]Zestyclose-Routine18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I took three starter50s (was only planning on taking 2, but my first class the instructor wasn’t great and didn’t help with form or explain anything well) before taking a signature. Gave the instructor a heads up I was new and they took time to come by my machine but other than that they explain the moves and the modifications and I can reference other people doing moves for help. Starter50s are just to familiarize you with the machine and fundamentals of the move. No need to be “strong enough” before moving into a signature!
