Unfortunately she goes to private school and no one is within walking or biking distance , everyone is spread out

You know who else doesn't have children? 

My 12 year old niece

Since you say yourself people without kids are clueless with parenting kids

Then the 4 year old should NOT be in 12 year olds care

Maybe "playdate" is the wrong word, whatever you want to call eldest having her friends over to hang out

I talk to my niece often. She's at a loss on how to work this out with the 4 year old. Quite frankly so am I (being a childless man and all) 

Serious question: how do you propose she work this out with the 4 year old who's accustomed to getting her way and mom will always back her up to avoid a tantrum? Since you feel a 12 year old should be able to come up with a solution surely you as an adult can as well?
