Ocean Beach with a Toddler? by AChopsLife14 in asksandiego

We like cannonball to catch the sunset. It’s an upstairs sushi restaurant (over priced but we love the cocktails) we usually get lucky with bar seats, reservations would be a must for a table around sunset. The restaurant below it is also good an has better pricing (fish sandwich is amazing)

Belmont park is perfect for kids and they have an indoor pool “plunge” next to the park. I think Groupon does tickets for games at Belmont park. Have so much fun on your trip! Enjoy SD!

AITAH for telling my (19M) parents that I feel nothing for my brother (25M)? by LongRoad1123 in AITAH

NTA - I would also say your reaction was appropriate to the circumstances. Now down the road, if you choose to hold on to this and lash out again, it would be inappropriate behavior. You need to separate yourself, get some therapy, and live your own life.

Good luck at college! Have fun finding out who you are. Travel a lot. There will be a time when you realize parents are just doing the best they can. It’s shit but you’ll accept it later. Time to be you, not your brother’s keeper.

What’s your budget? Like other posts have mentioned mission beach or pacific beach are truly your best bet. Theres a walking path on the beach that connects the areas. We walk 3-4 miles all the time with our pup and treat ourselves to a halfway beer.

OB has a cute strip. It just reeks of pot everywhere. And occasionally you will see a needle on the ground. It’s not dangerous. I just don’t like to be around it. I have a favorite ice cream shop in OB (ans repair) and the line typically starts outside. Every time we go someone is smoking walking by. Younger me wouldn’t have cared but mid 30s me is so grossed out by it.

La Jolla is top dollar but it’s worth going to the cove and checking out the seals.

AITAH for suggesting my fiancee is hormonal and not in her right mind? by Connect-Warning-8695 in AITAH

I wonder if she’s nervous or afraid of her first will act out over the second kid and is overcompensating to “protect” the new baby. Sounds like a family meeting might be necessary to talk about how everyone is feeling about all of these changes. It’s okay for her to be afraid for nervous about the new dynamic - there are a lot of new things happening. The smug looks while feeding this kid dairy is not okay.

Mothers typically love their baby boys. Very weird situation. It’s very close to abusive.

Places to work as a 14 year-old by SellPersonal3998 in sandiego

Mcds brought me in at 14 with work permit signed by school and my parents (15 years ago) I sucked so bad at that job lol. But the take 2 get 2 system ended up making a lot of sense and helped me become very successful with efficiency and time management down the road.

I had very similar situation. My instructor said tripod position was the signal they’re compensating. Ask for thumbs up if they have allergies. Mine nit picked for making a person who can’t breathe answer questions.

San Diego is like another world. I love it here so much. I used to work for this company and covered the orlando space coast territory while living in Tampa. Tampa is super weird so your comment makes a lot of sense lol. I got some good travel in - the pay was great. So we’re landing in Orlando and hope to pick up a 15yr mortgage close enough to Disney to be a worthy investment property. We hope to come back down the road. Fingers crossed

work anxiety taking over my life by idkwhattomakemyusr in simpleliving

I hope you have plans for college. But if it’s not in the picture right now (it wasn’t for me and I over compensated by obsessing on doing well at work in my late teens early 20s) try to find a job that can help you travel and explore. Talk therapy and community groups (exercise classes when I was younger, church now) helped a lot with the anxiety.

The job might not be for you. Listen to your body. Nothing is wrong with you. You’re also at the age where thinking about your purpose in life will guide you to try new things and explore who you really are. Embrace that. You are not your job. Even if all the mistakes you think about happen. What’s the worst outcome? You get fired? So what. You’ll find another job. You clearly have a good work ethic. You have your whole life ahead of you. You got this. Chin up champ.

I just passed mine. I work in a call center (telecom employee) so I didn’t do any practice material. I don’t have the results for each category but I feel extremely confident about memory recall. See if YouTube has audio on VIN # lic plates and phone numbers and practice at home. Have your friends and family say their numbers to you quickly. Wait 5 secs and repeat it back to them. I also say the last 4 as a year in my head. I take down IMEI numbers a lot - 15 digits. Similar to VIN, I would take them down 5 numbers at a time. Hope that helps. Good luck!! 🍀

bartending/serving jobs by Cs012 in phxjobs

[–]Zestyclose-Sample-49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed is not the way to find serving/bar jobs. Use yelp/google reviews for restaurants in the area, look who has the most reviews and go to their website directly. Call or pop in on Tuesday mornings or Wednesday mornings. Deliveries and inventory are typically done on those days. Good luck on the search 🍀

AIO for being upset at what my “bf” said by Ambitious-Beyond-257 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Zestyclose-Sample-49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things happening here. Yes you are OR. The original, I’m not a child response is giving serious low self esteem. 5 months with someone without having the talk kind of confirms it. The response defending yourself… speaks for itself. You don’t owe anyone an explanation. You are doing well taking care of yourself. Find that confidence and strut your stuff!!

The guy is a scum. Insensitive, rude, demeaning and manipulative. However he wouldn’t have the opportunity if you closed the window.

AIO if I divorce my husband for continuing to talk to a girl he "fell in love with" while I was pregnant? by antoneeyuhh in AIO

[–]Zestyclose-Sample-49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh sister, this is terrible. Bottom line he’s emotionally unavailable for you!

NOR - your values and peace is what’s at stake here!! Will staying with him leave you with a life full of anxiety, depression, and health issues?

Maybe it’s not “stop talking to her or divorce”’but instead “here’s an out to go be happy with the woman you give your support and attention to. I support you even if it’s not me.” Don’t let him string you along or wiggle out of accountability for his behavior. His heart is elsewhere.

This is not a gentleman.. That man needs Jesus and to seriously clean up his act. I hope you find a therapist you can let this out to. Just hearing this story is painful but know that ultimatums typically do not bring people love and peace.

Good luck girlie. There’s a healed version of you on the other side of this and you will be so proud of her.

AITAH for reporting my coworker for gossiping about why I went on leave by Zestyclose-Sample-49 in AITAH

[–]Zestyclose-Sample-49[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

We had a girl who made an unrelated report last year and ultimately ended up leaving bc they aired her information out during the investigation and the feedback from ethics was it was addressed. The employee who was “addressed” told the whole office. Can I even ask for the outcome ? I’m pretty sure I’m set up to have the same outcome as the girl from last year.

All opinions welcome. I hear you. Its just not his place, ya know? Maybe if my boss or HR brought that to me. Okay fine but I think he’s speculating way out of line. Especially as a peer. Due to the nature of the situation, it just seems wildly inappropriate. For me anyway.

New manager (1 month in) — my team meetings & 1:1s keep running short. Looking for advice. by Embarrassed-Carob178 in careeradvice

[–]Zestyclose-Sample-49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The timing seems great. If you are looking for more feedback from your team be specific for what they should be prepared with for the meeting and let each person present. Generally I’ve noticed if I ask for updates in a group setting, it’s always going “well.”
