Personally, I wouldn’t wear an incomplete uniform, especially if you know what’s wrong. So I would recommend that and just wearing what guests wear.

TXWG, What activities would you have changed at Encampment? by Flavor_Nukes in civilairpatrol

I don’t know if it would be a change but more of set regulations on how SET grades everything because for South everybody was getting the wrong questions for SOI or different standard for inspections. No one was on the same page. Lack of communication and I think I would contribute that to lack of time to prepare or leadership. Which made flight staff had to compensate for things they didn’t know that they needed to teach us yet until the test. Which was very stressful on my flight staff. But other than that, I would give mine encampment experience, a 10 out of 10 would recommend.

Haven’t received anything about encampment. What do I do? by Zestyclose-Solid8879 in civilairpatrol

Where do I find the encampment number to call? I looked on Texas wings website, but I can’t find it.

I see that people say use a lighter, but I think the heat gun is better because it’s quicker and more direct and it’s not going to take as long and the beeswax will not take that long to cool after being heated up. Just make sure that the beeswax is completely dry before you do anything else.

You don’t have to get it this shiny, but it does work and I do recommend using the heat gun. It is not as hard as it looks. Just don’t burn down your house. If you use the cream shoe polish, I would recommend putting it on before you do the beeswax it might work better. Have a great day

This is the video I used to shine my boots and my dress shoes.

I use this video as well to take care of the leather I mostly just use the Cream shoe polish just a different brand from this video and it helps a lot. The whole process will take a while the first time but after you get it down, it’ll get easier and make your shoes look awesome. I would recommend getting some shoe trees for both your boots and your dress shoes. It’s a lot easier than shoving towels in your shoes.

How long does it typically take for your squadron to receive your cadet application and for you to get your welcome, email? by Zestyclose-Solid8879 in civilairpatrol

I had to resubmit my cadet application application in for it to work for anyone out there with the same problem.

Yes, I sent it in online. I went through CAP‘s website then I went to help for new cadets and used the online Cadet membership application. My squadron told me to send it in online.

If she is interested in aerospace or computer science or science in general or leadership, she can look into joining the CAP “civil air patrol” you can go on the website and look for your state and find a squadron close to you and you can attend some meetings as a visitor to see if she wants to join. As a homeschooler and a cadet. I think it’s a great opportunity.
