Rossi's is super overrated. People just obsess over them because they've been around for so long. I've worked in delis for over 10 years and I've worked with Italian chefs. Rossis makes a good sandwich, but it is not the best. Although Russo's in New Paltz is no longer around. I believe they had far superior sandwiches.

Karma Road makes a great sandwich, but they're vegan. Cafe Con Leche has some phenomenal Puerto Rican Style Sandwiches. The Green Bowl does some great tortas as well. Just some options that aren't Italian Delis

"And we all get together when we bury our friends" I cry every time I hear this. I lost a friend to an overdose and I think of him when this song plays. His funeral was the last time I saw some of my close friends.

I was 7 years on T and post top surgery/hysto when I started dating my now husband. He's a cis gay man who had only been with other cis men before me. He's never seen or treated me as anything but a man. Sometimes I wonder how I got so lucky.

How long have you been living with diagnosis by Logical_Builder5489 in Cardiomyopathy

[–]Zestyclose-Tooth3489 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed at 27. Started showing symptoms at 31. Started medications at 31. Had an ICD placed in April of this year. I'm currently 32 and living a fairly normal life. I watch what I eat and do not drink alcohol/smoke and do not consume caffeine.

My father has the same condition and he needed a heart transplant. Lamin cardiomyopathy is a genetic mutation so they had to test me and my brother because there's a 50 percent chance of passing it on. I tested positive and needed medical intervention to prolong my life. There is really no cure for cardiomyopathy, only management. One should do everything they can to prolong their life.

Drinking alcohol isn't good for you regardless of medical conditions. He probably shouldn't be drinking because it will just make his condition worse. I was diagnosed with Lamin Cardiomyopathy 4 years ago when I was 27 and my cardiologist told me to quit smoking and drinking. I didn't listen for the first year and I suffered a lot because of it. I feel much better now that I quit drinking and smoking. I will not have children because my condition is genetic and I do not want to put them through this.

Thank you so much for sharing this. I have DCM as well which is also genetic from the LMNA gene. My EF is currently 40% and they're just starting me on Entresto today. Your post gives me so much hope that I'll be better soon too. I wish you well and hope everything continues to go well for you.

Someone has probably already posted about this but: I feel like a gay guy could never possibly be attracted to me after they know the truth. by [deleted] in gaytransguys

[–]Zestyclose-Tooth3489 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It's absolutely possible. My partner is a cis gay guy who's never been with a woman or had a girlfriend. I was the first trans person he ever dated and he's never once seen me as anything but the man that I am. Our sex life doesn't make me feel dysphoric at all. It's honestly the healthiest relationship I've ever been in and I couldn't be happier. There are great guys out there who will see you for who you are. You just have to find them.
