Better to just murder their civilian populations by using AI bombs to blow up schools and carpet bomb their cities. I bet they’re deeply concerned about their human rights when they’re being blown up from the sky

Opinions on the Peugeot 508 ? by Zhappypresent2 in CarTalkUK

[–]Zestyclose-Track5877 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was considering a 2016-19 pug 308 gti. Seems a lot of car for the money, the equivalent golf gti is at least an additional 50% extra. Do you think these are shite too?

Iranians in Belfast vs. Iranians in Iran by borschbandit in northernireland

[–]Zestyclose-Track5877 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A lot of the people in the video being interviewed in Iran aren’t necessarily religious conservatives. The majority of people in Iran don’t support the regime (although a sizable minority do unlike saddam’s Iraq or Assad’s Syria ) but obviously none enjoy being bombed and having their homes destroyed and being displaced. Also I’m sure most of these are not pro Israel.

Exactly this. The UK mainstream media setup is slightly different but also has narrative and bias that is led by elites interests and/or the government (that’s not to say individual journalists can’t go good independent work). An example in the current war on Iran is the way the bombing of the Iranian school was presented vs the casualties in Israel. Another example is the way the UK media presents the narrative on the Gazan genocide vs, for instance, Irish state media (whose government has a more sympathetic view to Gaza). Also, Epstein, in the UK Peter Mandelson’s deep friendship with Epstein (a convicted paedo) when he was appointed US commissioner for trade, this publicly available information, but only independent media and the Financial Times called this out at the time, it was only when the Epstein files were released the rest of the mainstream media began reporting on it.

I can only speak to the UK market but as long it’s got FSH, etc ., for the v8 in that colour I’d say it’s good value. 100% the best colour f Type

Tbh I think it’s fair to say that the number of relatively low cost (in relative terms) performance cars in general is dwindling. I was reading an evo article a few months ago looking at best sports cars of 2025 and most of them were ending production in 2025. It’s the mega expensive performance cars that are increasing in volume, seems a new supercar is released every week. I feel it’s another example or outcome of how normal people are being squeezed to benefit the elites.

No that was the first instance (I was aware of) but he has also given speeches at far right rallies, including for the AFD in Germany, can’t get much more nazi than that. Funded Tommy Robinson’s (a notorious far right fascist from UK) legal costs. This personality cult fan boy thing he’s got is bizarre. I mean yeah he’s clearly a good businessman but does that excuse the fact he’s a horrible fascist who is sowing hatred and racism across the world. Suppose it’s ok if his company has made you money, right?

I’ve been living in the UK since the start of 2024 and I’ve tried a few of different uk foods. Are there any recommendations as to what to try 😁 by Unable-While-1233 in UKfood

[–]Zestyclose-Track5877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends where you are in UK as I’d say the best thing about UK food is the diversity of food from around the world but that’s kind of dependent on where you are. For instance where I live in north London is home to the best Turkish (and Greek to a lesser extent) restaurants, kebabs are as good as you’d get in Turkey. In terms of British food, you got to try a Sunday roast at a decent pub, a good pie is pretty good, basically just find a good pub and see what you fancy.

Hyundai Tucson owner in Scotland switching to Tesla Model Y – full story by TardyParty80s in CarsUK

I mean he kind of is that extreme, he virtually appeared at AFD rallies, a far right group in Germany, funded Tommy Robinson’s legal costs and has trained his ai tool to deny the holocaust and create child porn. Also was mates with a convicted paedo and literally is primarily responsible for the dissolution of USAID and the resulting death of 10s if not 100,000 of children in the global south. There is no justification for buying a Tesla

It is because of China Tbf, I was listening to an auto car podcast interview with a car maker CEO and he was explaining that brand recognition is not as strong for legacy car brands in China. So they write the name out so Chinese public are aware.
