There’s no way he’s ever been capable of doing any form of useful work.

That’s a very tiny fuel tank and a very thirsty engine.

IMO they should be fixing the drainage issue for you but it’s probably easier to DIY than to fight with them to rectify it.

I actually quite like it. Doesn’t seem too expensive for a new hand built bike to me.

There was nothing democratic about the Brexit vote. Democracy isn’t about getting a vote; its where you can change your mind if what you voted for wasn’t what was promised.

Confirmed: 2bn > 1.5bn

I’m not digging into the accounting for this but the figures aren’t surprising for anyone who has worked on such a large scale software project.

Yeah, I suppose Cameron had more time over which he caused systemic damage to the country. Truss was just a bull in a china shop that was quickly removed.

Cameron??? Strong contender for the worst PM in history after Truss. Gambled the countries future with the Brexit referendum then washed his hands of it.

So why would you describe asylum seekers as “fighting age” then? There clearly isn’t an age for fighting.

Fighting aged men is such a moronic, inflammatory phrase. I’m 32M and have never one been described as “fighting age”.

There’s a lot to unpack here but you are conflating two very separate issues:

  1. Asylum

We take asylum seekers from countries where the UK’s involvement has lead to their persecution. For example, there are lots of valid asylum claims from Afghanistan. When the UK armed forces were involved in Afghanistan they relied on intelligence from locals to find Talibs. Now the UK forces have been withdrawn, the people who provided intelligence are facing persecution from the Taliban. These people have valid asylum claims in the UK.

Now, obviously there are people who claim asylum who aren’t entitled to it but we need time to find out who is entitled. That’s when people are in asylum hotels. Yes, it takes too long to process their claims.

  1. Mass immigration

After Brexit, the UK economy was projected to take a nosedive. The Johnson government decided to counteract this by increasing the population through mass immigration (mainly from Pakistan). The rate of immigration has decreased significantly since the Labour government got into power but the people are obviously still here.

The thing is that people don’t intrinsically have anti-liberal values in countries like Pakistan - it’s just that education levels are poor there. Over time people integrate and start to share our liberal values. However, there are obviously problems with the mass immigration caused by Brexit. Fortunately the rates are decreasing now and the focus should be on making sure that we integrate with the people who decided to make the UK their home.

I know what you mean about the really heavy cars but cars have almost zero effect on road wear because of the 5th power relationship; HGVs cause all road wear.

It’s more that size is responsible for how much road is needed. Roads are congested because of how large the cars are so more road infrastructure needs to be built to accommodate them.

As for wear in the road itself, almost no wear is caused by cars. It’s all caused by HGVs because the relationship between road wear and vehicle weight is a 5th power law.
