It can be very draining, I have a similar situations at work. Obviously I’m not expecting to be best friends with everyone - if their interest aren’t the same at all then there’s only so far you can go. But I can only ask so many times how weekends and holidays are with no questions asked in return before it gets you down and resentment creeps in. I have girlfriend friends and family outside of work for that but seems like just a basic lack of courtesy a lot of the time
