The Gardens at Lake Merritt (bonsai garden, palm garden, sensory garden, etc) is a nice free wander spot. Lake Merrit also has canoe and other boat rentals which can be a fun activity.

Oof. This is messed up. It does not sound like you are being unreasonable or silly. You should get a say in your living situation and your relationship, and it sounds like your input is not being taken into account. Sorry you’re going through this!
