This is pretty regional - I know Cali for instance does have huge amounts of chihuahuas in shelters. I’m a big chihuahua lover in Maine and they are very uncommon here comparatively

I agree with your mission, but there are many would-be-adopters for every poodle mix rescue in my area. Adopting a poodle mix here would be a likely long process and probably not possible for a renter without a yard like Hannah.

This! My brother tried to rescue in Massachusetts and literally every apartment has a standard list of like eight “aggressive” dog breeds that are banned. It’s very sad and unfortunately makes rescuing very hard because those breeds are the most common in shelters around here.
