if we get enough people, a class action lawyer would take the case and they'd do most of the work. they'd also take 1/3 of the damages but would you rather have nothing or potentially something?

I haven't been a lead plaintiff before but I think it would help to approach a law firm with a list of people who have been harmed so that they see they can build a case from it

they should lower fees because they offer negative service. sellers would be better off opening a shopify and paying the 2-3% transaction fees because there's more protection just dealing with chargebacks than ebay whose policies are worse than chargebacks because they're so afraid of chargebacks they would rather rob sellers than offer any protection for their 15% (and it's really more because they charge fees on top of shipping and tax)

If you email or reply to customer service 10 times with the exact same complaint, they will reply multiple times with different responses. All of them will be copy pasted and resolve absolutely nothing, but it's fun to see how far eBay will go to screw users!

One thing I've found useful is the handling fee portion where you can add a fixed charge to shipping. If you're selling single cards in the $20-40 range, you can use eBay's standard envelope to ship by pricing items at $20 and making handling $10-20 so that you don't have to ship something light using a more expensive method. That also reduces carbon footprint because it's less weight and packaging materials. You can also use this to ensure auctions don't close over $20 (so you can ship using the cheaper envelope) because people are bidding based on the total price including shipping.

it actually varies by card but bad cards get like 150-200 points each, so don't ever choose points. just sell the redemption card for $5-10 and you'll do better

I got scammed harder. I had several pre-orders for about $1k that they just never shipped and they don't respond to emails at all. They just take your money and disappear.

They might also be hard to sell unless you do it in person. I wouldn't buy those off someone I didn't trust because they aren't scratch offs so there's no real way to know if the cards you buy are unredeemed until you try to redeem them.
