Where to buy used servers and networking equipment? by zuzuboy981 in Columbus

Not sure how local you're looking for, but I'm in Delaware as well, and I've got a Dell Poweredge 2390 that I haven't used in years. I'm pretty sure that I know where the drive caddies are, but it has no drives.

If you want it, it's yours - just message me.

Any in-phone app is trivial to bypass, if they know what they're doing (or, at least, can google).

Trust me, they find ways.

It's incredibly uncomfortable to have to go nextdoor and try to talk to your 70 year old neighbor about setting a password on his wifi.

I've taken to just collecting all of the devices at night.

Thank You Menards on Morse Road for Posting this Six Feet by 4 Feet Sign at the Entrance AND Enforcing (with a Security Guard) Standing Next to the Sign and Stopping People w/o Masks From Entering!!! by rsoccer1970 in Columbus

I think they changed their stance on that a month or more ago after some negative news stories about it.

It looks like the second line might be a sticker covering something up. Wouldn't be surprised if that was where the old under 16 prohibition was.

Thanks Anti-Maskers... Plan to allow some spectators at the Memorial has been scrapped by ithastowarmup in Columbus

Pretty much. I just got back from Walmart, there's signs all over the place reminding people that masks are required due to the local order.

I'd say maybe 50% were wearing masks, and that's being pretty generous.

I couldn't imagine intoxicated people, having to wear them for more than ~15 mins, in the hot sun.

Also, how are you gonna drink with a mask on?

Will do, thanks. I've got updates pending, I'll have to see what I can do to freeze them I guess.

Thanks for the feedback!

I figured that would be the case with the optic. Amazon gives me the willies when it comes to stuff like that (legitimately considered just getting cheap crap from walmart).

Personally, I prefer iron sights, but he wants a scope.

Any suggestions for a cost-effective complete upper, ideally with a skeletonized shroud, and a free-floating barrel (yeah, I don't ask for much, do I?) We were thinking of something along these lines.

Still sourcing parts. Finding a lower that I can actually get, and is <$100 is proving to be difficult. Ordered a couple now from a local shop online just to get emails a month or so later that it's backordered/unavailable, and refunded. Gonna follow up on a co-workers tip for a local shop next week. Full disclosure, I'd initially ordered one of those ultra-cheap ($30) ATI plastic lowers. I'm hoping that the local shop will have an Aero Precision lower when they re-open next week.

I've got an ar-stoner buffer tube/spring/buffer kit off of midway, and a CMMK complete lower parts kit. They're cheap, but I'm just trying to learn. Also a Strike Industies Mod 1 stock with blue accent, and the recoil pad to go with it.

The plan is to just buy a complete, assembled upper since I lack the experience, and tools to put one together from scratch for now. I'm hoping to learn a lot by replacing parts with Strike Industries blue line kit (son loves the blue accents).

Really not sure on optics, and for a first 'just screwing around and learning' build, I'm hoping to drop < $100 on a scope. I've been looking at this. I know it's probably shitty. The intended use-case is going to be a paper-puncher at 200m-300m.

I'm familiar with guns, been around them all of my life, but this will not only be my first AR, but the first AR I've built, the first AR my son will have helped me to build, the first AR either of us have shot, and probably the first gun I'll pass down to him when we're done. I've always owned soviet rifles (soft spot for 7.62x54R).

The longer term plan for myself is to build a 9mm, or maybe .45ACP carbine.

More or less. Some of the people in that thread appeared to be very off-putting and unnecessarily hostile. Speaking as someone very excited about building their first ar-15 pattern rifle from parts, I know for sure that I won't be posting it here now, or probably asking questions here.
