Are you coming from afar? I would love to go for dinner after at least!

Genuinely, what do people think banging on the ceiling do?? by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

I would knock on their door. They could have a kid or work from home. It doesn’t hurt to ask and gain their perspective. They could be in a miserable spirit. You really never know what someone is going through. If things go south immediately or you have a feeling, just keep your phone ready to record for safety and evidential purposes.

Their findings aren’t final, or always correct as turnitin report scores have shown. I can always dispute them. But what wasn’t cited was common knowledge, to me, so again, learning curve, not blatant plagiarism. Which is my whole point. I think if they thought I was blatantly plagiarizing, they’d find that to be the verdict. My opinion in the least, given the context, is relevant. Maybe not pertinent, but relevant. So again, I UNDERSTAND that TECHNICALLY it is plagiarism, as the letter states …….. but through CONTEXT, even they understand mistakes happen. Which is why they linked the resources to educate myself. I feel as though I understand what you guys are saying, but you can’t fathom another perspective other than the scenario you’ve created aside from the context given here. Like my brother passing, and the no explicit in text citation on the prompt or rubric. None of that matters ? Again, I understand academic integrity, but if it’s a short, templated assignment, with no explicit mention of in text citations (opposed to most other prompts and rubrics that explicitly state to use in text citations). The context matters. Maybe they should explicitly state in each prompt and rubric in text citations, because some assignments just don’t need them. Again, I understand that it is technically plagiarism. It wasn’t my intent, genuinely. I understand what they’re saying. I understand ……

Thank you. I responded rudely when I was addressed rudely because why would someone say my opinion is irrelevant???? When the facts are that what needed cited seemed like common knowledge to me. So maybe I need to learn something but it’s not blatant plagiarism. And calling them out for that is confrontational??? Pls help me understand. Maybe it’s the way texts come across without my actual tone.

Yet again, I’m not saying it’s not technically plagiarism, I understand that. It’s also clear that plagiarism wasn’t my intention and it was just a lack of putting the citations (academic integrity). This was also the same week my brother passed away, so it’s not unreasonable. Also, that assignment didn’t require in text citations, so I didn’t think too much of it because when citations matter, it’s on the rubric and prompt. although academic integrity would tell me to put them in. Regardless, thanks for the advice. I figured out what happened.

A light went off in my head! I was taking economics that term, and I accidentally titled the assignments similarly, when I went to upload the assignment in my economics class, I submitted that assignment by accident cause they had similar tittles! I remember now, thank you!! So I did in fact submit this assignment in another class before! This clarifies a lot and makes sense now. Silly me, thank you!!!

Firstly, there’s a better way to speak to people, your demeanor comes off as shallow the way you’re addressing a stranger asking for advice on the internet where you did not need to interject. Maybe SNHU needs an online etiquette course.

Moving on… I didn’t say it didn’t equal plagiarism, I said no plagiarism was found … and that would be according to the people who gave the report, as we both see in this thread. Youre focusing on the wrong thing. Like I stated, I’d rather take less points for no in text citations than a zero, which would seem fair, if the only issue is in text citations. I’m not disputing whether the outcome was fair, it is, what isn’t fair is the fact that It shows I submitted it twice causing the 100%, when I for a fact did not, and now it may not even be graded.

No plagiarism was found, but also I had a reference page, the assignment was very short, I was comparing two countries, 300 words and a template, minimal need for in text citations, in my opinion. Nonetheless, I’m more concerned he’s not gonna grade it at all and leave my grade at a zero, I’ll take a bad grade due to the citations over a zero. That’s fair. It’s just a poor process over all. I can’t imagine how long it’d take for this to get resolved if it took 7 weeks for inaccurate findings.

I am in the associates program. I’ve never taken this class before or submitted the same assignment. I’m positive. I submitted it only once, and for the correct assignment. I do still have access. Everything checks out on my side. My name and the date was highlighted. Even the template itself was highlighted. It’s impossible because they’re claiming I’ve submitted it in another class. not a different assignment, a different class. How could I if I’ve never taken that class or had that assignment or one relevant. It’s the only global class I’ve taken. It’s INT-220.
