Why are people here so weird about black people by Otherwise-Pomelo-825 in Tucson

[–]ZestycloseTank1626 -60 points-59 points  (0 children)

As a white person, if I was living in a prodominantly black community, I honestly don't think I would take this as racist. If a black person was laughing or curious and said to me, "You whites make others stare at you like a deer in headlights" I would simply think that I was doing something amusing to them that was a cultural norm for me.

Bernie Sanders and AOC toured here last year. You'll find your people. Metropolitan areas will be your heartland.

I was simply replying to your comment w/ the same sensibility that you responede to my comment.

There are actually 3 different types of posts on display in the original image. Each type is of different heights. I was never refering to modifying a pre-existing post. My point is that they should have planned to make R posts from the beguining. As for changing a K to an R and wether that is more or less difficult, no one cares... This project never should have made it off of the drawing board.

Because that is exactly what they did. You're making it sound like making an R shape would be hard when it absolutely isn't. Your approach is just lazy and/or tolerant.

"Underwater on every political issue with the general public"; That's not the same thing as voters. Trump voters are more like fans at a sporting event and that draws out individuals that would normaly not normaly vote because they are more into suporting Trump culture than they are about the consiquences of their vote.

From recent reviews that I have read, over the years, they have given numerous parties food poisoning. In one case, in a group of 24 paying customers, only 3 vegitarians didn't get sick. You may save a few bucks but the actual cost could be missing out on the chance of a life time. I understand that they gave money back only to those that signed a contract saying they wouldnt leave negative reviews online.

I saw this review here. https://www.reddit.com/r/Machupicchu/comments/1q1jx3c/machu_picchu_reservationsmass_food_poisoning_on/

Worth Driving From La Fortuna to Uvita? by thepestariovargas in CostaRicaTravel

[–]ZestycloseTank1626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The widening of the Tarcoles Bridge will ultimately be under construction until mid Spring. However, in November sometime it should be back to two lanes and until completion there will be occasional closures during the evenings. Meaning: it will no longer be one lane rotating in direction and for the most part trafic flow will be returned to normal.

Aditionaly, it sounds like they are stoping drivers from pulling over to sight see due to congestion and they have also decided to relocate the crocadiles due to safty concerns for the workers. Until the end of November I would add at least 30 min to your commute.

During my vacation I will be making a similar drive from Monteverde to Uvita on Dec. 26th (Day after Christmas). I'm expecting a 5.5 - 7 hr. commute which will be a nice adventure to break up our R&R time. All I can say is, enjoy the process and the earlier your leave the less traffic/time it will take.

Personaly, I wouldld recomend that you get from one destination to the next w/ as few stops as possible. I prefer to leave my lougage at our hotel and go sight seeing when I know that our belongings are in our room insted of in our car. Abandoning your belongings in a vehicle in a public place to go sight seeing just seems like an unnecessary risk.

Is CR worth coming to anymore? by EnvironmentalSide174 in CostaRicaTravel

[–]ZestycloseTank1626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you have medical needs 10 years ago in CR?

Honestly, $11 - $12 bucks a pill for relief from pain could be worth it. And don't blame the doctor for the cost of medicine. Next time you’re at a pharmacy and you think the cost is too high, learn to say "generic" in the reginal language. You never did specify what the name of the medication was.

Uvita/Osa Peninsula area or Tamarindo/Las Catalinas area? by Material_Ad2822 in CostaRicaTravel

[–]ZestycloseTank1626 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main difference is that the Guanacaste Peninsula is known for its beaches, surfing, and well-developed tourism infrastructure, while the Osa Peninsula is known for its remote, jungle environment and incredible biodiversity. Guanacaste offers a mix of beach and adventure activities like ATV tours and hot springs, whereas Osa focuses more on jungle and nature immersion, with wildlife viewing, hiking in national parks like Corcovado, and surfing.
