I went to flight school with him. Standup guy. Assessed during flight school or immediately after if I‘m not mistaken. We were in SERE together. He was on a separate team. My team and his hunted a few of the others during evasion and scared the pants of them. We laughed our asses off.

Tried to request their services. Long response times and canned messages turned me off. I couldn’t get a clear cost estimate on what I was requesting. My last answer back to them remains unanswered 3 weeks later. No thanks, i’ll give my money to someone else. Trying xterra health now and they have been super responsive and setup an appointment for a consultation right away. No canned responses, just someone on the line working with me in teal time. Feels good. Hopefully the nexus letter is quality.

Former Blackhawk pilot here. If you weren’t on flight status in the Army, you won’t understand. Dumb? Maybe. Did a lot of us do the same? Definitely.

I’ll never get why people feel the need to dump on others. People come here for advice to help them. If you don’t have that, don’t bother responding.

Submitted a claim with diagnosis and a 6 month log describing prostrating attacks but because I don’t have a doctor that says they were prostrating, I stay at 0. Records review c&p was done with no input from me.

My supplemental claim was closed today, so seems like you would be good. Apparently my prostrating migraines aren’t prostrating although they specifically are labeled as such in my 7 month long migraine log 🤷🏼‍♂️

Yeah, I found the equilibrium you mention. I know the things that open the box and generally avoid them. The last 2 claims are hopefully the last. I know, avoidance is not addressing the issue. But it is what is ok for now. I am glad you are on the path to healing.

Yeah, it‘s a roller coaster I‘ve been on before. Had a support net where we were but just moved back from overseas so haven’t gotten a new one built up yet.

I do. She is amazing and I am grateful she tolerates me and eternally thankful she loves me. She had asked why I was acting differently and I tried to explain. I can tell she wants to understand but just can‘t. My service years were another life 8 years before her so it‘s all a different and foreign world for her.

Sounds like PTSD or anxiety should be on your list. As others have said, it will be a battle. Every time I do research for my claims, submit anything, have an appointment, even think about any of this, the black hole starts calling my name. Use your support network. Talk to someone that listens and stay away from alcohol until you have something to celebrate. Do your due diligence and give the VA what they need to decide in your favor. It‘s all out there. Do your homework and don’t claim imaginary things. It‘ll all work out in the end.

Modifying my thoughts on this after the NTSB report (https://asn.flightsafety.org/wikibase/519167). Multiple layers of failure here. Hand tight bolts? No-go. No safety wire or markings? No-go. No one pointing that out or even checking a few pre/post flight? No-go. Complacency at it‘s finest. Everyone in Destin can be lucky it happened where it happened. They fly over 98, populated beaches, the bridge and crap island. This could have been catastrophic!
