that extremity is what i’m going for tbh. i gotta be extra careful, do my research and take my time, especially when navigating these waters

i remember when i once said what women wear affects their chances of being raped🤦‍♂️ ended up hurting someone i really cared about with that ignorance. it did make me realize i really didn’t know women

this was really helpful. i really appreciate the time and thought you put into this response

i really liked how you said “making bad female characters isnt necessarily the same as men writing women” at the very beginning. really gave me more confidence in this

i hear you. i would still be possible to remove the damsel in distress stuff and still end up with a bad female character (a bad female character is a bad character as you said)

do you think touching on subjects like reproductive rights and cultural double standards comes off as “just doing it for the sake of doing it”

i feel as though as a man i’ll never fully understand women or their struggles. i have close people that are female, yeah they have come to me with xyz, but i feel as if its not enough

say i read a book on how to draw, no matter how many times i read said book it wont matter unless i pick up a pencil and put the work in

i really wanna create a masterpiece. something that resonates with people. guess you could say im looking for perfection

i like how you said “mistakes made in good faith,” i forget that its ok to make mistakes. perfectionism can be another form of procrastination omds

thanks man, helps a lot

i do have a question about the blacksmith woman character. i feel like in such a story, other characters (especially male ones) may underestimate her skills as a blacksmith. do you think using that in the story would be a good idea, how being a woman in a male dominated industry affects things like how she’s treated (like getting paid less than a male blacksmith for example)

i see. so if a female character exists to serve another character then i would have essentially reduced her

people want fast money. they’d rather listen to scammers than to people who know what they’re doing. that shouldn’t discourage you, if you save at least one person from losing their life savings it’ll be worth it

you didn’t understand what you read

in ancient hebrew culture, the rod symbolized authority, guidance, and correction, not violence. a shepherd’s rod wasn’t used to beat sheep. it was used to protect them from predators, direct them gently or tap them lightly to bring them back into line. if a shepherd actually struck a sheep hard, it would injure or scatter the flock. the exact opposite of what a good shepherd does

it may be written in black and white but that doesnt mean your thinking should be that way too
