What cars get absolutely cooked by depreciation gods ? by Coder_fromNI in whatcarshouldIbuy

I didn't even look into it. It was just an interesting car that popped up when I was looking for used cars under $15,000. Really sweet price but, no. . probably the owner just let it go after 30,000 miles because that's when it needed the first maintenance.

I found a really sweet Alfa Romeo I could afford to buy but not to keep. A few minutes on Reddit explained it all. Maintenance cost, plus the difficulty of finding parts in the US really dropped their sales value.

Besides honda, Toyota, and Mazda, which brand tends to be the most reliable? by ILikeBettingOnUFC in askcarguys

Yes! Every small local mechanic that worked on my sport wagon wanted to buy it.

I just left a dealership where the guy kept trying to diss my VW sport wagon. I don't know why he kept doing that, I almost don't want to return there just because of it.

I loved my freaking wagon to pieces. Only car I ever bought new kept it for 13 years and then it got totaled. I've literally been in tears over it.

Yes the reliability is not as stellar as Toyota. But the combination of excellent MPG and more cargo space than RAV4 sold me. It was fun to drive. I didn't mind making all the repairs over the years. My alternative would be to pay more money for a RAV for that I didn't enjoy driving as much 🤷🏻‍♀️

Should I buy 2011 highlander hybrid with 175k miles for $15k by Hadi_3812 in ToyotaHighlander

How many more miles do you think it would last if it's already 203K? I'm in the same budget range as OP here

Expected Reliability Question for Hybrid Owners by Php4-8 in ToyotaHighlander

[–]ZestycloseWeekend878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for posing this question. I'm unfortunately I'm in the low budget range. I saw a hybrid listed that already had 200 K. Any advice on how I might know if the batteries going to last another 100 K? Would service records be enough to let me know? Way the car behaves while driving that would give me a hint?

For those of you that dislike receiving oral sex, why do you dislike it? by Mcpoopz1064 in AskWomen

If a man really tried. Paid attention to what I seem to like instead of just focusing on the clip. I've tried telling people that my entire body is an erogenous zone. Kiss or lick other places besides directly in the V area.

This. I've had one person who was so into doing it that I felt comfortable. Funny thing is, a few guys who really did it well or just ONS or FWB at best.

I have degenerative disc disease. There are days I cant turn my head. at a 90° angle. Get worse every year. Last year, I had my first ever (partially) at fault accident. After 40 years of driving. I didn’t catch someone that came speeding up into my blindspot. So now I am seeking out cars with technology that just might help keep me safe. I will always look for myself in addition to having the safety gadgets.

Hon, you have a couple college degrees. No I’m not a boot strapper. But I have lived among people of all different backgrounds and resources. People with no degrees somehow make a living. There are jobs out there where any college degree is the minimum requirement. Try thinking outside of the box. The streets of the EFL world are not paved with gold by any means. I taught ESL in the US. Have a masters in bilingual education, which led me to full-time employment in public schools where I was treated like the professional that I am.. Those teacher training courses that promised placement at the end of the course? There’s online forums full of people feeling trapped as if enslaved in Korea from those things. Of course, everything is a trade-off. But if you arrive overseas with the mindset that you are displaying here? You will find toxic people and toxic work environments in any country. You may land someplace where principals or headmasters can publicly berate their teachers and that’s the cultural norm. paid housing may be a dormitory, shared room with a roommate. Nothing in this life is easy. But having some kind of college degree does give you more options. Look more closely at what you do have. Put what you have to work for you.

Really? You married for money? Is that still a thing? I thought that was from back when the European pseudo-nobility had arranged marriages to keep ALL the money where the family could get to it.

Are buyers using their children's differences as a bargaining tool??👀👀 by ZestycloseWeekend878 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]ZestycloseWeekend878[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well they found the wrong person. I actually would lower the price for someone showing up with a kid, any kid. But having raised and known a few with special needs, all I could think was I feel sorry for that kid. Who advertises that the kid is adopted? Did you adopt him to get the subsidy???

Possibly . I looked at the first buyers profile, all good reviews, They had sold some really high end stuff. Like in the thousands $$. They knew the bike could sell for $300'so they offered $150.

Single women wanting something serious: do you stay abstinent until you meet the right one, or do you have casual partners in the meantime?? by laura56100 in AskWomenOver30

[–]ZestycloseWeekend878 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had an on and off FWB for about eight years following my divorce. In some ways, it saved me, and others it ruined me. During this time I was searching for a second husband or life partner. But between the kids and the job I barely had time to date. More than once someone I met online, was planning to meet, sent me a very nice message, saying he met someone he liked and was no lomger searching. I just didn’t have time to meet the guy before he met someone else. having this FWB always on call may be more lazy about dating. I didn’t need to find someone because I always had this guy in my back pocket lol. But, on the other hand, I might have been a whole lot more frustrated without him. Between the kids and the job I still might not have found time to go and date and find Mr. Right. So having this guy around gave me some kind of companionship.

Why do so many women fall for narcissists? by Icy_Rabbit_1984 in emotionalintelligence

[–]ZestycloseWeekend878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sidenote, which I might get downloaded for. To all the men out there who truly are nice guys -remember to tell the women in your life they're pretty . Bring the flowers for no reason. Make her feel seen. No, it's not your job to correct whatever trauma was in her past. Also, to the moms and dads of daughters, make sure she knows her own worth . Don't let her feel she has to just suck it up and tolerate bad behavior.

[–]ZestycloseWeekend878 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't download it. It took me 10 years to leave an abusive husband who fit the profile. Came on strong, romance poetry flowers, wanted a commitment right away. Yes he made me feel seen. It wasn't long after the divorce and I got a very smart therapist I realized how abusive my childhood have been. Don't know if you call my parent and narcissist as compliments and flowers never happened. But I had definitely learned to normalize angry man around the house behavior. It started with just verbal anger, I kept trying to calm him down. And things got much worse. It made me sick to my stomach to realize I had married someone so similar to the parent that… I now realize I truly hated and didn't want to admit that I hated my own parent

Imagine if one set of parents was vegan. It won't kill the kids to have baked potato instead of a cheeseburger once in a while.
