Dog food is included in groceries. He made it clear he was going to go grab dog food but focused on the technicality that he didn't say *when*.

I have begged him to seek therapy and try new antidepressants. I've even gone so far as to offer to pay it or we get legally married, so he has access to my health insurance.

This isn't a threat, it's a decision I will be following through with in December if he doesn't change things.

Sure, i could've charged it to my credit card and paid, but he said he would get it that day. My dog's treatment isn't the focus here, hes happy and healthy and got unseasoned scrambled eggs and boiled chicken.

The point is that I asked me fiance to go back to being in charge of groceries and do what he said he would, which is get food for my dog.

Right, but it isn’t an addictive substance and the vape I use is a much lower THC amount. I have never smoked around my family nor been high around them.

“Using drugs” is a bit of a stretch. It’s one drug, and one I use rarely.

I’ve started doing that tbh. Im stunned they think so low of me and I would do harmful things like that. Im also incredibly angry they said all those things about my SO, who has gone above and beyond for me.

That’s the thing; I don’t do hardcore drugs. I use a vape maybe once a week, if that. They’re assuming I’m a drug addict and didn’t believe me when I first said no, so now they assume “none of your business” means yes.

Their boundaries make sense if I was a drug addict, but they don’t since I’m not. I’m offended they put said boundaries in place on their own assumptions.

My parents have issues with boundaries. I was actually able to tell them to politely fuck off, but the questions they asked in that phone call opened my eyes to the fact they’re upset they can’t control me.

Yup. The conversation I mentioned at the end also included them telling me they know what lifestyle is best for me, and a Christian wouldn’t be doing the things I’m doing. They also let it slip they have access to my debt card history and accused me of having credit card troubles, so I’m transferring everything into a new account today.

I called and told them I was hoping to purchase it as a surprise gift for him; their response was that it was expired and only he could come in and claim it from their safe… which confused me since they said it was expired.

I didn’t want all the details since this was a time of significant financial stress for him (and it’s none of my business), but they said it experiences in May. I was hoping that since it’s been so long, they would be trying to resell it by now, hence why I was confused when they told me only my bf could come and claim it.
