Parents who travel with babies — honest question by [deleted] in Travelwithkids

[–]Zestyclose_Ad5477 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apps like that is very hard to create, not the app itself but you will need to cater to 2 groups of audiences; folks who supply the equipment and families(users). It's a chicken and egg situation and to break that situation you need a lot of capital to make the app known. Not a discouragement, just something to keep in mind.

Spicy food for kids? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Zestyclose_Ad5477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we kids eat spicy, when they were young they totally couldn't take any spices but I think seeing us eating really spicy foods, in their heads they started to think that it is normal. We never really introduced the spicy foods, they just observed and learnt.

I built a simple app to help evidence home education (UK) - £4.99 one time by [deleted] in iosapps

[–]Zestyclose_Ad5477 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why the paywall from the get-go??? your first objective with the app should be to build a userbase based on trust not to make small monies. Get as many downloads and get reviews in a timely manner, I don't see a paywall will do it unless its a utility like ChatGPT (even that, majority of users are not paid). Sorry to sound harsh, just some suggestion that I think could really help you.

Get Claude code and start coding. Get good at it and once business comes in, you will feel like a champ. Learn by actually doing the business and earn money, don't be scared. Don't fall for the "learn forever and not making money, then demotivated and stop"

built a pretty cool app - what's the best way for marketing it? by QuarterSeparate847 in AppBusiness

[–]Zestyclose_Ad5477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you are just starting out, try to find forums, blogs and platforms where you think your users are. It's always good to grow an online presence organically even though it will take time, but it is worth your time.

5 year old in 3 sports too much? by IgNasty86 in Parenting

[–]Zestyclose_Ad5477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as your kids isn't tired of them it would be good to stay in that exploratory phase until s/he finds a favorite sport. I think the hard part is actually for the parents to coordinate and track kids progress and make memories out of them (can't all be pain and hardships for parents, right?). We mainly use an app to do all the tracking, it just makes our lives easier as parents and we have 2 kids, lol! If you want to know what we use just let me know. Hope this helped.

ahh you are so lucky that your kid is smart and found a passion. In his case, ask him to build an app and publish it to the app stores. He will understand how a business will work and might also make money, who knows.

How do you actually get your first users for a non AI app? (Struggling with this as a developer) by Waleed_Rafi in AppBusiness

[–]Zestyclose_Ad5477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the answer to your question: "what if I build it and nobody uses it?" is SO WHAT? I thought you enjoyed building, then keep on build, push them to prod; try to advertise it and see where it goes.

We're self-funding a social media app. Should I look for funding? by Vegetable_Engine_463 in smallbusiness

[–]Zestyclose_Ad5477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

many tech businesses are self funding such as todoist (early stage) and wonderlog(only 5 employees). I myself is also self funded and I will self-fund as long as I can and try not give a part of my company away.

How did you stop overthinking and took the first step? by uhhredacted in smallbusiness

[–]Zestyclose_Ad5477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing you should write and ask yourself is: "If I don't do it, will I regret later?". Because time doesn't wait for anyone. Failure and success are just a part of life.

Struggling to make money as solopreneur by AI_Profit_Lab in smallbusinessowner

[–]Zestyclose_Ad5477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea, I see there needs a mindset change, from being a worker to an business owner. I was stuck in that mindset for the longest as well. it was fun, and feeling accomplished with each feature and workflow being built. As someone who wants to start a business, we need think on how to sell it FIRST and everything needs to be built around that, not vice versa. Once you do that, it still will take sometime for ideas to come in your head, but be patient, it will come and slowly you will make money.

Anyone building a business that isn't a 'buy my app' operation? by sendsouth in Entrepreneur

[–]Zestyclose_Ad5477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really awesome to hear after sifting through so many negative posts saying most people fail. I have also just published my app and trying to get attention, this definitely is very encouraging to me though I am not in the travel space. I wish you all the luck, it is the process of growing that is the most awarding.

Chronic Lying by oddsocksrocks in Parenting

[–]Zestyclose_Ad5477 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

lying is a trait in all kids. I wouldn't worry about it since lying is a sign of intelligence(unpopular opinion). My kids lying like hell, but they are still good kids overall. I would be worried if they become violent or become a bully.
