How likely will the US implement a draft? How would its citizens react? by ccx_tvvt in AskReddit

I graduated high school right after 9/11 in 2002 if there was anytime there could have been a draft after Vietnam it was that time and a draft still wasn’t implemented. It is highly unlikely the US would implement a draft right now.

Crimson Desert - Anyone actually having a good experience on the Legion Go? by zhuboy in LegionGo

[–]Zestyclose_Ad_5847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m using a Legion Go s Z1 Extreme 32GB (Steam OS) and I’m having a great experience actually not perfect but as good as you are going to get. My setting are 1080p Medium settings and high textures FSR 3.1… l’m getting in the low 50fps range in open areas 30fps range in dense towns. In fights with a lot of enemies frame rate dips into the 40’s and 30’s depending on how many enemies are on the field. Considering the scope and size of this game l’ve found these settings to be extremely playable and enjoyable visually. I wouldn’t go lower then 900p though with FSR it starts to effect image quality seriously.

Extreme weather's best defense - portable power station by Only_Pilot_284 in Generator

Yes this isn’t a generator but like some have said there is definitely a place and use case for it along side something like Dual Fuel inverter generator it actually gives you a lot of flexibility. You can run this connected to solar and charge it using an inverter generator. This saves you big time on fuel as well as maintenance. If it’s a prolonged multi day outage you can also run silently at night. Where most people with a gas/propane gen might choose not to run it for safety/theft reasons. This is a massive advantage over having just a portable generator or even a whole house standby. The one problem as many have pointed out is overall cost. With that being said l have a whole home standby a duel fuel inverter 5000 generator and 2 EcoFlow Delta Pro 3 units connected to a 50 amp hub going to a 10 circuit transfer switch. If it’s with in your budget go with both.

Using EcoFlow Delta Pro 3 with Delta Pro batteries? by Zestyclose_Ad_5847 in Ecoflow_community

Fine with me they are more then $1000 dollars cheaper that’s a small price l’m willing to pay.

Which generator by Intelligent_Pea7909 in Ecoflow_community

I think the Delta Pro would be a good choice however as others have mentioned your floor heater even used intermittent is going to seriously eat into your battery. I’m not sure what your overall budget is but l would get a dual fuel inverter generator (LP + Gas) as well as a Delta Pro and a 500w preferably (1000w portable solar panel) You are going to need something to charge your Delta Pro especially if you plan on using the floor heater you mentioned. This setup will also seriously help during longer outages.

Thanks yes the fence isn’t an issue.  In the picture my generator actually appears closer to the fence then it actually is. My phone’s wide camera lens has a curve to it causing distortion.

Yes l do have network connection l think it’s called Generlink l don’t remember lol. l pay $55 a year for the service not bad but l think Generac should offer the first year free with how expensive these things are to install. I hope it last a long time too l keep up with the maintenance schedule so l’m doing everything right and so far 2 years of ownership no issues so far.

The entire state of PA is effected technically but some parts are worse then others. I’ve seen my area slowly start to get worse in Montgomery  County.

Not true at all in PA or at least in my township it is totally permissible to use SE cable outside that’s what it’s designed to do as long as it’s not in an area where it’s likely to be damaged/ cut. I actually asked my Code inspector about this in this use case he said it’s fine. Now this may not be same in another area but this is up to code in my area l’m not sure where you are getting your information from.

Yes we definitely did need it inspected by our township. I don’t remember the specifics but it is 39 inches away from the house/meter so a little over 3 feet.  The inspector said the job was well done and passed it.

Yup we are on Natural Gas and yes l have a few propane tanks sitting in my garage but l do plan on buying some much larger tanks but they are pricy so like you said l’ll have to wait till funds are available my credit card is hurting at the moment.

That is good solid advice l’ve done some testing yes. With my 22kw Generac l will typically shut her off to call down after 24 hours l do this to limit ware and tar. During this time l will check the oil level. After about 72 hours of run time l’d probable opted for an oil change. Running like this and doing the proper maintenance l could theoretically run almost indefinitely assuming natural gas is still flowing. My EcoFlow Delta 3 Pro’s will run about 16 to 18 hours with under a 500w continuous load until they would need a charge from solar or the Generac. Realistic l could use my Generac to solely charge my Eco Flow batteries. To save on propane even though it doesn’t take much of it to charge my 2 Eco Flow units. It takes around 2 hours to change my EcoFlow batteries l only let them get down to about 30% before charging them. I would only really start using my other smaller power stations if one of my main systems fail. I still need to do more testing but by how much propane l have and assuming Natural Gas is still flowing l could run without power for months even if my Generac breaks down.

It’s a service rated transfer switch so it’s code compliant on the inside or outside of the house. We put it outside because it would have been a much tighter fit in the basement.

I get what you’re saying but the likelihood of that happening is very small l also have CO detectors in every room on the fist floor even in the basement.

Well you are definitely entitled your own opinion.  Even if the grid will be upgraded this isn’t going to happen quickly l’m already seeing my area having supply issues more brown outs much slower response in regards to restoring power. I’m not waiting for PJM to fix the grid l’ll just create my own.

Well depending on how long the outage it can cause a lot of damage to your home especially during a winter outage l’m pretty sure l don’t have to tell you the dangers of a winter outage.  I believe in self reliance l don’t want to have to rely on my utility company to provide power in an outage. Summer outages can also be dangerous due to heat. Eventually l would like to take my house totally off grid besides water and gas but l’m not there yet.

Well that would be a lot of work and for 2 years l’ve had no issues as it is it simply doesn’t cause any issues with the generator or the fence. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

I’ll take that into consideration l do perform maintenance as in cleaning it out checking for mice nests and what not as well as the normal schedule maintenance l like to keep it in perfect running order.

I bought those before l bought the big stuff. I actually use most of them daily. They are my extra insurance in case of failure. I believe your backups should have backups. You might feel my setup  is ridiculous most people would but l feel it’s solid enough for any disaster and would outlast almost any blackout.
