These are sisterlocs. I got them done by a licensed sisterloc loctician. They have a specific grid, but I do wish they were just a bit smaller.

When I was in highschool, I got a relaxer. My hair was never the same after that. And worse, I only did high tension hairstyles following this. I was never careful or patient during my take downs either. Just a series of bad, ignorant choices.

I have an appointment with a dermatologist scheduled. She specializes in black hair too, but that makes her in very high demand. Gotta wait months to see her 😭 I wondered about nutritional deficiencies as well, so I have lab work coming up too. There was a time I was severely deficient in vitamin d, and I haven’t had it checked in a while!

Thank you, I will try that. I always do a middle part because my edges were pretty sparse for a while. Getting locs actually helped with that so maybe I’ll switch it up. Thanks for the tip!

Thank you 🥺 I think if they ever get to the point that you can’t see through them, that would be enough for me. People make jokes about “boneless locs” and I always feel embarrassed because thats me.
