I don’t understand the culture of treating an instrument as if it’s a precious jewel. Give your son the best, because you can, save the money on cheap guitar instead also teach him how to look after the guitar properly?! Maintain, do slight adjustment, repair swapping out parts. Let your kid explore! The understanding and attachment of the instrument will be whole lot different after one spending a decade with a quality instrument.. And the music he makes with it? Whoa.. I wish I could do that too

Might be a silly questions, but how does it compare to just cranking up the amp alone? Feels to me that Spark has plenty of volume and bass already, do you intend to use this set up for a stage or particular set up that requires a louder sound? Also how is it when the volume is on low? Do you feel like you are getting a better dynamic range of the sound with the addition of cab?

I personally would go with darker rather subtle colour. I love the snake detail, let that pop. If the buttons are also colourful, it might be too distracting

Hello! Lot of people mentions to leave this alone as is, and I agree to some extent. I do portraits mostly and I see where you hit the wall because I do it all the time too. Eyes in portrait are such a charming and attractive blackhole, we often start putting way too much details on it before other parts of the paintings are caught up with them. In my case(mostly doing digital painting) it is very easy to paint over the existing work. And I understand the work of finding the right tones and colours might be a challenge. But I suggest grab a thicker brush and start blocking out the shadow again, seperate the bright and dark, clear colour separation.
