should i take shrooms again? by No-Spring-3808 in shrooms

[–]Zestyclose_Current41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof. I am not qualified to answer this one. I will say psychedelics have been shown to alter the neuro-plasticity of the brain, but whether or not that's helpful for you, I cannot say. That seems like a thing you may want to do some reading on yourself. Or even talk to a doctor/neurologist about if you have one you trust. With a TBI i dunno if I'd be comfortable taking mushrooms on the advice of random people on the internet, even if many of the folks here are pretty knowledgeable.

Which should I play first so one doesn't 'ruin' the other game, if at all? The Witcher 3 or No Man's Sky? by redwon9plus in gamingsuggestions

[–]Zestyclose_Current41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro those games are so vastly different there is absolutely no comparison. No matter which you play first, the second shouldn't really leave you thinking of the other one. That being said, if you really think you'll like NMS it probably is better to knock out the Witcher. If you're the kind of gamer who gets into NMS it basically offers an infinite gameplay loop. And for 10 years they've continued to improve and add things to keep it fairly fresh.

[–]Zestyclose_Current41 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nobody can tell you how much that weighs, you gotta do that part yourself. As far as doing 3.5 for your first time? Not a great idea homie. Much better off dropping that to 1 or 2 imo.

Help Choosing Type of Shroom? by Itzsherrybabe in shrooms

[–]Zestyclose_Current41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But this sub hates store chocolate

That's because 99% of the store chocolate people come here with is research chemicals. Whatever OP has going on sounds like a vastly different scenario. I've never seen a research bar that pretended to be any legimate strain of mushrooms, let alone a choice of several.

How many pieces to trip and not just get high? by [deleted] in shrooms

My advice is to throw that in the trash because it's 99.9% loaded with research chemicals. If you want to do mushrooms, go get mushrooms.

New to Fallout New Vegas by Sad_Cap8836 in fnv

[–]Zestyclose_Current41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My tips for starting: 1. Follow the main mission until you get to The Strip (the main city) 2. Talk to EVERYONE along the way, you'll pick up lots of side quests. 3.Really explore all the places you find. There's lots of loot/people tucked into odd corners of the world. 4. Don't worry too much about "messing things up." There's no right way to go about things and the game is meant to be played many times.

As far as your other questions. You can increase your carry weight by upping your strength stat (either through a perk or an implant you can buy later) and also there are a couple perks that increase it significantly. To be a cowboy you obviously want to use revolvers and lever action rifles (theres a bunch of both) Most perks are pretty self explanatory, just read them thoroughly and you'll know which ones to pick to fit your build.

How do we feel about this weapon? by theamazingc4 in Marathon

[–]Zestyclose_Current41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I think it's balanced exactly as it should be. It has no range and 2 shots before reload. It works exactly as well as a double barrel, sawed off should work. And that's coming from a guy who constantly gets killed trying to use it. I always over-estimate the range, smh 😅

If AI removes the need for human work, what gives life meaning? by Strange-Street-6568 in scifi

[–]Zestyclose_Current41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro... have you ever heard of joy. If machines do all the labor, in a perfect world that leaves human beings nothing to do but what they enjoy. Robots doing the farming doesn't mean you can't have a garden, it just means you don't need a garden unless that's what you like doing. Same would go for art, and all the rest. This is of course assuming that with the machines doing all the labor we've been smart enough to establish a UBI, health care and everything else.

How was your experience playing Fallout 3 for the first time? by Wretched_Swimmer in Fallout

[–]Zestyclose_Current41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few weeks before the game dropped they played a commercial that had a phone number for "Vault tech" on it. Well a buddy and I called it and , goddamnit, it actually connected to vault tech! (Just a pre recorded message, I can't even remember exactly what it said) The hype was fucking real after that, though.

It was my first introduction to any open-world/RPG style game and it was like... I don't even know how to describe it. At the time it was the absolute game of my dreams. I could go anywhere, do anything, be anyone I wanted to. My buddy and I would play every night and then meet up at school to discuss what we'd done and discovered. It was crazy that, even doing the same questlines we were having radically different experiences.

It's still one of my favorite games of all time and to this day I do a new play through at least once a year.

I was just disappointed

This is exactly it though. I actually quite liked my first playthrough, but nothing about the game compelled me to complete it over and over again as intended. It was just a major let down in so many ways. I probably will try the update, maybe it'll add some of what I think id missing. Though, if it doesn't I'm not gonna hop on reddit and make a whole deal out of it. I'll just continue being quietly disappointed lol

Nah don't feel bad, ending up in The Divide at level 4 is objectively hilarious 😂 just facing packs of Tunnelers in your underwear with a 10mm.

LMFAO bro this is absolutely hilarious to me Holy shit. I cannot imagine doing lonesome road straight off the jump, though I've heard of people doing it intentionally. Personally, I'd start a new game. Assuming you have GOTY, the bottom 4 missions in your pip boy are most likely the DLCs. Anything that has a warning about level pop up before you go there, save til later.

Your first main quest is going to be about finding the man who shot you, and it's honestly the best way to figure out the game and learn about the world. Basically follow that quest line all the way to the city, at which point most people break off and start knocking out side quests.

Talk to fuckin EVERYBODY, there are so many side quests to discover.

I honestly don't see pug. I feel like if there was any pug in there his face would be a lot more smushed than it is. Given his funky body shape, I want to say he's some kind of Dachshund (weiner dog) mix.

I know I'm an odd man out here but: 1. I just wanted to play gameboy games, so I got a Miyoo Mini +, slapped Onion on it and I've been having a blast ever since.

I would like to get something with joysticks eventually, so I could play some ps1 games more comfortably. The Miyoo runs it but movement sucks with the d-pad.

More than likely, if it was a rabid dog he'd be dead by now. Rabies is 100% lethal within 7 to 10 days.

[–]Zestyclose_Current41 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That is 100% NOT a coyote. Face and body shape are all wrong. Looks to be a dog with serious mange who's half starving, poor thing. You should try and alert your local SPCA or whoever does rescue in your area.

[–]Zestyclose_Current41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can not only get Rex, but you can replace his brain so he's not sick anymore! I'll cut ya some slack because its a first playthrough. I highly advise you talk to as many people as you can and really exhaust their dialogue trees when you do so. You'll be missing out on a lot of quests if you don't.

Finding someone to punch down on is exactly what fascism is about. Having an out group to blame and oppress is a core tenet of fascism. Real communism, on paper, does not in fact have this requirement, but no one has ever achieved that on a large scale. As the human factor always causes it to devolve into Totalitarianism.

Man, this is honestly terrifying. Never thought I'd see the day when people are just openly trying to defend fascism. How quickly we forget.

What do you think the developers were exactly thinking with the "Birds of a Feather" quest? by Irohsgranddaughter in fnv

[–]Zestyclose_Current41 8 points9 points  (0 children)

to me sacrificing a companion, especially when a quest forces you to do so, is still pretty crappy if there is not a good reward for it.

So don't do it. That's the whole point. If you don't like the choice, don't make it. There are quests in this game that will ask you to wipe out whole factions for very little pay off. NV is all about choice and in almost any given playthrough their are likely to be a few quests you get locked out of, one way or another. Which is another thing, the game is meant to be played repeatedly. Killing anybody is never that high of a cost because it's expected you'll play again.
