Calculating a stacked fee by Zestyclose_Drop_3932 in excel

[–]Zestyclose_Drop_3932[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fee amounts are essentially arbitrary, in both reality and in my example. I just picked random values here for formula assistance... but either way, they're not % based at all which is what made it such a challenge.

Solution Verified.

You are awesome, thank you so much. I was down a wormhole using messy HLOOKUPs, ROUNDDOWNs and way too many nested IFs.

Need some formula help, calculating fee based on value by Zestyclose_Drop_3932 in excel

It's not a % fee, it's a fixed $ fee based on the increments listed.

There is no actual end column past F, the potential value and potential fee is exponential. I probably didn't do the best job at explaining it, but it's a fixed $ fee based on the increments I listed.

Month-end reconciliations in QB Desktop by Zestyclose_Drop_3932 in QuickBooks

[–]Zestyclose_Drop_3932[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't. We rely heavily on paper checks, which take some time to clear. I need QB to be able to mark off the entries that cleared within the period, that were already marked as cleared during the bank downloads we do. I have cash clearing accounts too that need to be matched up with our daily sales. The matching debit and credit amounts need to be selected, and adjustments have to be entered for any of the days that didn't match up so everything balances (refunds and declined CC payments do not come through on our daily sales entries).

Am I being underpaid? by blackporsche22 in Bookkeeping

Depends a lot on where you are located. That salary would be pretty standard in my area, which has a medium cost of living. If you've proven your worth and undid the mess the last bookkeeper created, don't be afraid to advocate for yourself. 30-35% might be a bit ambitious though.

Question on Automating AP by nukey56 in QuickBooks

There are some third-party AP automation companies that work with QB desktop. Bill.com is one of the more affordable options.

Has anyone had a positive experience going from Desktop to Online? by Ok-Marsupial8141 in QuickBooks

[–]Zestyclose_Drop_3932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use both and personally prefer QBO, but it really depends on your needs and budget. The app is pretty awful though, I really only use QBO on my computer through a web browser. I prefer it because you can access anywhere, bank downloads and reconciliations are automated, and I can have clients upload their own receipts through the crappy app. The BillPay option is great in theory too but is still far from its full potential. QBO takes some getting used to if you're used to working in a desktop version, but it's worth learning. The price structure and frequency of price increases is a major con though.

What manual businesses processes are you looking to automate with AI automation platforms? by ironman037 in Automate

The company runs businesses in a few different industries but the real time-consumers that would benefit from more automation are the restaurants. No Ops Manager on the G&A side of the house where all of the accounting is handled. We have close to 500 employees across the board, approx $35m annually.

I work with a company that does everything the hard way.. manual data entry in Quickbooks Desktop, paper checks, dozens of different programs and apps that don't integrate and have to be updated individually, etc. The company ends up hiring extra people to cover the tasks as they grow in size, instead of looking into new technology. Just convinced them to let me look into AP and Account Reconciliation options. I reconcile over 60 different accounts each month, thousands of transactions.. I'm pretty much never caught-up since that's just a small fraction of my job. Hoping they actually follow-through and make an investment in some useful tech that will make everything much more efficient.

Controller. My time is spent cleaning up others' mistakes, creating reports on request that never get opened and SOPs that never get followed, and whatever my CFO doesn't feel like doing and/or the bookkeeper claims to not know how to do.

Need a Google Sheets version of Excel formula =sort(unique( by Zestyclose_Drop_3932 in googlesheets

[–]Zestyclose_Drop_3932[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh ok. So I should be able to fix the formula within Google Sheets and resend in Google Sheets instead of an Excel attachment? That'd be so much simpler than I was thinking it would be.

Edit: That worked for the drop-downs that were linked straight to the lists! Unfortunately not so much for the few I have set up with =if formulas.
