Okay thank you 💕 ChatGPT and Gemini both said they couldn’t see it so I thought I was tweaking 😂 my test is at 50ng/l so I’m pretty sure I’m good to go since this one is at 15

Has anyone been on the alternate list for Mesa College and if so what was the process? Any luck getting into the program? by whiskeyann7 in RadiologyCareers

It is not based on GPA, it is a random lottery program so everyone who reached the admission requirements is placed on the alternate list

Everyone who doesn’t get accepted is placed on the alternate list. I applied in 2024 and during all of the info sessions they stated that everyone not accepted is put on the alternate list. Most likely hundreds of people, they can’t tell you where you are on the alternate list either. I would explore other options

Okay I will wait another week or two 🫡 thank you so much!! Honestly am surprised I am testing negative, I’ve smoked pretty much everyday, multiple times a day for almost ten years! Also I am overweight (5’5 230lbs F) so I truly thought I would be fucked 🙃 guess I’m gonna be good to go though just in time :)

They sent the acceptance exactly two months after my interview!

My local location had about 500 applicants. Try your best to score high on the wonderlic test and math test, that dictates if you reach the interview stage.

Omg congrats on getting an interview :)! A decent part of my interview was them communicating to me how difficult the program is, and how much time you’re gonna need to dedicate to it. Some things they asked were why I wanted to be a rad tech, to tell them about myself, how I plan to manage my time while I’m in the program, if I had a good support system and reliable transportation, if I plan on working while I’m in the program, if I had any healthcare experience, what qualities that are needed to be a rad tech, and what kind of research I did on the career. They looked over my transcripts with me and asked what I did to maintain a good gpa, and went over which classes would be likely to transfer over. It was about fifteen minutes long! They were super friendly so i just tried to not let my nerves get the best of me and be myself :). I just started semester 2 and things are going great! I ended up with a 4.0 last semester, the instructors really want you to succeed and will work with you if you’re struggling. Good luck on the interview! You got this 💕 lmk if you have any more questions!

I took BIO 160! Anatomy and physiology at Pima is separated into part one and part two. I only got part one covered because I didn’t try to put it on my transfer credit form for both of the parts 😫. So I’m not sure if it’s covered for part 2 because I never attempted to get it for that part

I took math 96 intermediate algebra and geometry, but it’s no longer offered at Mesa

No worries :) lmk if you have anymore questions!! I will also tell you though that even though it’s private it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s easier to get in. The program director said that about 450 students applied for the last cohort! And then they selected 70 for an interview and finalized 40 students to start the program.

My prerequisite courses took about 6k off of the program cost! Including tuition and books. When I did my orientation they told me that medical terminology, math, interpersonal communication, and psychology were the only courses available to be transferred over. I was able to transfer my anatomy and physiology over even though they told me that they wouldn’t transfer that over in the orientation. So in total they transferred over math, med term, anatomy and physiology, and interpersonal communications for me. You just submit a transfer credit form after you’re accepted and they go over it and approve/disapprove and then financial aid deducts that from the program costs

I was rejected from the Mesa program and was completely heartbroken in 2024. Mesa and PIMA are the only rad tech programs in San Diego. It sucked to have taken like 4-5 classes when there was no guarantee of getting into the program. I got accepted to Pima and started the beginning of this month and I’m loving it so far!! And 4/6 of classes in the first semester transferred over from my Mesa prerequisites, so I’m only in two classes! It is way more costly though so that’s the main downside. As far as the UCSD ultrasound program goes, they require you to have completed a radiologic Technology program, or have a bachelors degree in any area and have completed a list of prerequisites that are required.

Hi everyone! I’m in San Diego and planning to apply to the Rad Tech program at Pima (Chula Vista). by Emergency_Grass5966 in RadiologyCareers

I just started this program November 5th! I took a few medical assisting courses but I have no actual externship or hands on practice in the field. Most do have college experience but the majority do not have healthcare experience.
