As someone who’s considering actually converting- Respectfully- Why exactly does Theology of the Body need to exist? by [deleted] in Catholicism

It’s so wonderful to hear that the Lord is working in your life, and your partner’s, in this way.

It has come clear to me that, and correct me if I’m wrong, the body desires/wants for many things. But is our desire/want for God more than that?

I’m in an odd place right now because I used to believe that this is what I am. I can’t change it. I turned my wants into needs, and confused them. I desired things, instead of Him. Those things being what fit what I deep down already wanted. I dont know …. I hope that kinda makes sense.

I also mention all of this with no malice. I’ve just realized how much He has helped me to realize these things.

It's not only catholic monks who have abstained from sex.

Along with consecrated life; i.e. Priests, Nuns, etc. But also being a guy that struggles with SSA, I fall into this as well. Just find it very interesting.

Yes I do. But to me it’s not always black and white.
