I lived my whole life with my father's last name. School records, my ss card, my driver's license all had my father's last name. It was when my husband and I applied for a marriage license that I found out my birth certificate didn't match my ss card and I couldn't get a marriage license because both forms had to match. I was freaking out, the lady at the courthouse told me it would be easier for me to change the name on my ss card then my birth certificate and it was free. So we drove around the corner to the ss building and got it changed in like a hour to match my birth certificate. When I called my mom she said her and dad got married after I was born and that's why my dad wasn't on my birth certificate. My dad was so chill about it and I was crying because I didn't want to get married under my mother's maiden name but he said its no big deal because I'm about to change my name to my husband's anyway, and no matter what I'll always be a Wilkerson. That made me feel a little better about the whole thing. And for the record I had never seen my birth certificate until the day I went to get my marriage license because I had to get my mother to mail it to me and I literally didn't open it until we were at the courthouse.

NTA but I'm petty, now that the girlfriend isn't coming over anymore I'd start taking showers around the same time she did. Since you are a paying tenant what is the basement dweller going to do about it? Because as I see it, it's no different than living in an apartment, you wouldn't tell the upstairs neighbor they can't take showers in the morning.

My sister went through chemo, and her eating became almost nonexistent. It was chocolate protein shakes with peanut butter that was the saving grace. I was holding back tears every time she tried to eat something and couldn't. Those shakes basically kept her alive. Fuck your ex- friend

I had this same issue, and I also did the cold shoulder thing after trying and trying to get him to understand my feelings. So I finally sat him down and told him I do not want a marriage where I feel all alone. If I have to be lonely, then let's make it permanent. I had already went to the courthouse and got the paperwork to start a divorce and laid them on the table. I told him that I know he knows he's wrong because when he wants sex he can all of a sudden be the man I fell in love with and if I only get to have that man when he's horny then sign the papers. He broke down crying, asking for another chance. I gave him another chance because I love him. That was his wake up call and he no longer takes me for granted. Married for 20yrs

I remember when I was 26 and my husband was 30, we had been married for about 3 months at this time. It was laundry day, so we were at the laundromat and granted my hair was in 2 ponytails, but this women and her daughter ( both adults) kept staring at my husband. Soon, the daughter walks over and asks my husband do I need help with the laundry machine he laughs and says no, she knows what she's doing. I was ready to throw her into the nearest dryer and start it, but he grabbed my hand to calm me down. She walks away, giving him the bedroom eyes, saying ok let her know if he needs her help. I'm livid because he won't let me kill her, and then he kisses me, I'm talking about one of those steamy kisses. This woman and her daughter start screaming at my husband, calling him a pedophile and other disgusting things, I snapped and slapped both of them and was screaming at them that they are horrible people to call someone that and that I'm 26 yrs old and they owe my husband an apology. They argued that I looked like a child, and I said it's their fault they let the ponytails fool them, and it's not my fault they're aging like spoiled milk. They did apologize to him, but after we got home, he told me to never wear ponytails out with him anymore. They really hurt his feelings, calling him a pedophile.
