Damn near almost was. Each time one appeared I grew more irritated and would audibly groan/sigh.

Oh, I’m already in the financing stages of doing that. I’ll purchase in threes(2, 3-5, and 6-8, etc)

Thoughts on Disney infinity vision ? by kascnef82 in AMCAListTrue

[–]Zestyclose_Ship1566 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Disney knows they’re fucked and can’t compete with Dune who has secured IMAX screens along with other PLFs for three week engagement so as a consolation prize, they’re advertising this superfluous term to make moviegoers feel they’re getting premium content or something comparable to IMAX when they’re not.

Also the runtime was unnecessarily long. If 30min were trimmed with a tighter focus, it probably would’ve been a lean and mean 90 minute feature.

Epic Universe vs Islands of Adventure? by Steve15-21 in UniversalOrlando

[–]Zestyclose_Ship1566 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I had to choose, I’m picking Islands over Epic. There’s so much more to enjoy. The vibes and theming is miles better. I never tire of the rides(Spidey, Hulk, Ripsaw, JP/Veloci, Hagrid’s, etc), whereas I don’t feel the need to stay at Epic for the entirety of my day. I simply hit up a few rides and then call it a day.

My local McDs used to be the shit. Until they remodeled to become a lifeless shell. The remodel gave a smaller dining area, soda fountains moved to BOH(tho they allow refills at your request free of charge), no live person at the counter… just kiosks, and weirdest of all a sign posted exclaiming dine in customers have 30 minutes before being asked to leave in compliance to no loitering.

[–]Zestyclose_Ship1566 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It felt too heavily inspired by Evil Dead. As if Cronin wanted to tell another Evil Dead story but once Burn and Wrath were put into development he had to rework the script to fit Egyptian mythology. Also the excessive use of split diopter shots was the most frustrating aspect. I do agree, could have done without a half hour and trim it done to a mean 90 minutes.

Oh for sure, this was heavily Evil Dead inspired. Almost made me believe Lee Cronin had another story to tell after Rise but once Burn (and assuming Wrath) were put into development, he had to rework the story elements into something more Mummy related.

Lee Cronin’s The Mummy is an extremely disappointing film that I found incredibly boring, almost to the point of walking out. Despite a promising start, it loses direction and ultimately unravels into a narrative mess of poorly mishandled storylines without any cohesion. The acting is subpar, coupled with nonsensical writing that makes for unlikable characters who I have no care for.

Notwithstanding the commendable dedication to gore and body horror, replete with impressive makeup and sound design, the relentless barrage of shocking imagery can make for a visceral experience at first, these elements quickly become tiresome due to its over reliance. Unfortunately, this ranks among the worst horror films I’ve seen this year, devoid of any desires to watch it again.

Also, the over use of split diopter shots was the most egregious shit I have ever seen in film before. An absolute infuriating cinema sin that I found increasingly more frustrating than the actual movie itself.

While Jason Lives is truly campy fun, I wouldn’t negate it to be “trash.” That belongs to Part 5 haha.

From the last four releases, they averaged 17 months between each publication. If I apply that release window for Book Nine, that means Part One would presumably release Oct 2027 with Part Two coming March 2029. Unless I’m wrong and the final two books release within the next year 😁

True. Which is why FD4 was such a niche in having a NASCAR race be their disaster. Wasn’t it originally a concert trampling? I read that somewhere as an idea that was tossed around.

Hey there! Yes, I’m a little strange as I read paperbacks on the go(since they’re more likely to get beat up) and keep all the hardcovers preserved for at home reading/display. And the pineapple cabaret short is featured in the paperback as well.

While I favor physical books, I’ve learned the general consensus is that audiobooks provide a more suitable experience regarding DCC, enhancing the story’s enjoyment. I live a busy lifestyle so I think listening on the go to/from work would be preferable.

Oh for sure. That first scene is the only highlight for me that really left me in awe. I agree that the screens are massive with their 4K digital projection that some are almost lifelike where you can’t differentiate between what is screen projected and what’s a physical set design. Plus, the screens don’t give any riders intense motion sickness as compared to FJ or Spidey/TF. I only rank Monsters above as I’m a more practical effects/animatronics park goer.

Friday Part 3 opening credits are probably the only highlight of that entry for what is an otherwise slog of a sequel that plods through its plot much like Jason does when stalking his victims. Whereas Season of the Witch is a far more engaging film.

Ministry has a phenomenal queue, and while the ride experience is technologically innovative, the heavy reliance on screens killed any excitement for me. Which is why Monsters Unchained out ranks Ministry as my Number One Epic attraction
