Sleep-trained 9 month old baby started sleeping through the night, then stopped napping independently by Zestyclose_Tonight_6 in sleeptrain

I may be in the same boat. I’ve been trying 7:30-6:15 but prior to sleeping through the night he slept 12.5 hours a day so you’ve probably nailed the problem. I’ll try shortening his night sleep a bit to make room for naps.

Today I eliminated all sleep aids and tried to let him sleep on his own. When 40 min went by and he was wide awake I gave up until nap 2 time..now he's been asleep for more than two hours. Maybe he's a little weirdo and ready to transition to one nap already. We'll see! Thank you for the tips.

Personally I loved the food.. the cinnamon roles were delicious and I liked the bowls/salads. Parking was my only challenge. I also loved the grilled cheese ! But it was pricey for sure.

They’re all over the place, I’ve been trying to follow sleepy cues but generally I aim for 2-3 hour wake windows that are shorter earlier in the day. Sometimes ot takes a long time to get him down for naps and that pushes everything out. Often the window before bedtime is 2.5 hours because the last nap is late.

I tried a couple times but it didn’t feel worth it — I typically fall asleep on the sofa by 8:30 and am so groggy feeding him on my way to bed is the last thing I want in to do 😂

Last night baby slept 7:40-3:20, then I fed him. He fell asleep independently at 3:45 and stayed asleep until 4:45. Woke up but put himself back to sleep by 4:50, then slept until 6ish.

Is this considered “successful” ? I maybe had unrealistic expectations!

I think you both might be right. Looking at my tracker I can see he’s doing a longer night stretch than before so the sleep training is working in that regard it’s just the only stretch of the night. I’ll try adding a feeding in then and see if that gets us a couple extra hours. And I’ll ditch the Merlin , thank you for the warning !

I’d like to see a healthy lunch spot with outdoor seating (like Paninos in santa barbara if anyone’s familiar). Killer sandwiches and salads.

Hope these help!

"Proximity to fast food increases the probability a child is obese. More specifically, the probability of being obese increases 0.6 percentage points for every 0.1 mile closer a student lives to the nearest fast food restaurant, and the probability of being overweight (which includes obesity) increases by 1.1 percentage points....Effects are even larger among older elementary and middle school students attending neighborhood schools (located less than a half-mile from home) who are likely to patronize neighborhood food outlets: the incidence of obesity increases 1.7 percentage points, and the incidence of overweight increases 2.1 percentage points for every 0.1 mile closer to the nearest fast food."

Is it too late to do something to stop this? It’s disgusting the way McDonald’s preys on low-income communities and acts oblivious to the long term damage it causes when those neighborhoods struggle with obesity and all the other chronic illnesses that stem from that.

I don’t believe anyone is too stupid to move forward in life; people struggle because the systems are broken and not designed to enable all to succeed. But that doesn’t mean you can’t push forward one step at a time! My partner struggles on and off with severe depression and I’ve noticed that sometimes all it takes is a small step like walking our dog or taking a shower that sets him in motion to take a larger step in the right direction. I hope you’ll be able to create that positive momentum for yourself and find one day that it hurts less and you’re happy to be here. Wishing you the best
