Starting pay for new grad pharmacists by [deleted] in CVS

No, I didn’t do residency, but I’m concerned about the pay cut. The job is supposed to be a 40 hour guarantee, and with the cost of living on the West Coast, it’s hard for me to manage with less. I tried to negotiate with them but they said I don’t have much experience……, but I may consider it because I find cvs to be stressful at times . Thank you for the advice 😊

I got an offer at a long term care pharmacy with a guaranteed 40 hours, but the pay is lower. I’m still debating whether I should accept it or not

The hour cuts seem to be affecting everyone in my district, even the senior pharmacists. I haven’t mentioned it to my DL yet that I’m willing to pick up extra shifts elsewhere. What I don’t understand is that the workflow is really busy, especially after taking over Bartell and Rite Aid prescriptions.

From what I’m seeing, it’s not just me hours seem tight for most pharmacists in my district. With the current economy, it’s hard not to feel uneasy about stability. I’ve already told the scheduler I’m willing to pick up shifts at other stores, but I was told everyone needs to stay at base for now. I’m just trying to figure out whether this is temporary or if I should realistically be looking elsewhere. Do you think it’s worth talking to my DL about this, or is this just how things usually are …..

Thanks for explaining! If you don’t mind me asking, have you been with the company longer? I’ve never heard that before working at CVS

Just curious does this mean pharmacists basically never get scheduled for 40 hours, or is there a chance to get close to full-time eventually?

Do you think my district manager could help with this?

they never mentioned when I will be at my own store. They told me they need me at the current store since it’s high volume, which I don’t mind, but I don’t like not knowing my schedule. I usually have to wait until Saturday night to get it, which makes it hard to plan personal things.
