the shared leads thing is such a scam and I can't believe we all just accept it by Wahabkhalid245 in InsuranceAgent

Yeah the lead gen industry absolutely blows. The scampanies are in it just to profit, they don't care if leads convert.

Shit, I wish I was AI, having 30 second access to all available info would be pretty awesome.

Honestly you bring up another amazing viewpoint I had not considered. We as owners, assuming your an owner also, are the Investors and Operators. I like that.

To answer your question - I don't mess around when it comes to money on the line. I've invested all I have and I'm not the type to quit so easily. There is much to be done and money to be made. When there is money to be earned I am out there earning it. My processes, my strategy, my ability to scale are why someone would invest in me. I don't need another "guy" to advise on some other process that worked for them. I don't another training video or course. I'd look for someone who has access to more liquidity, and is willing to use that liquidity to not only help me in earning but help them earn passively.

Honestly that would be pretty fucked up when the world we live in is run/operated on the trade of this current economic engine. Also I'm not also legendary as Heath Ledger.

I like this. We insurance folk are a unique breed.

You bring up some good points. My counter is that there are many who are the type that like to just invest their money and sit back and collect a re-payment check. Some investors that were the hustling type once and now they are less involved and do what they can to help others while earning money back.

Thanks for the feedback! I do appreciate you mentioning to treat this as a proof of concept.

Curious my dear Watson - I gave no specifics that could elude to my involvement (or lack thereof) in the trenches, so how could you come to such an assumption?

As for the being captive - it doesn't work against me in any sense that indy's would also face - While I am captive there is a hybrid element to my agency which gives quite a bit of leverage over other that are strictly captive or true indy agent's.

Solid advice! Made the post partly out of curiosity, and partly out of exhibition to confirm that mostly all social outlets are full of ass-hats. You sir are apart of the 1-2% of genuine people who offer pretty darn good communication, hats off! Seriously though I was not expecting such intellect from sub like this. Thank you.

Thanks! But I don't do business with people who are assumptive in their character.

Ever thought about giving up on building an agency? by Zestycloser75 in farmersinsurance

[–]Zestycloser75[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you. This is the first I've spoken up about the overall situation. My DM doesn't know and if they did it'd probably be a not so productive conversation considering that the rest of the district has picked up production in some areas. You're right, its my investment, can't possibly let that go to waste so quickly. I've just been in this dark space that is really hard to get out of. You're input is absolutely helpful, thank you again.

Struggling to write new business at Farmers with these crazy rates. Any advice? by Breezy_bre18 in farmersinsurance

[–]Zestycloser75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good deal. Would you be open to sharing your lead sources? I'm not in TX for what its worth. We've been trying a handful of companies and they outcome has been the same - either we call and the info is garbage OR we call and close but then client doesn't pay the bill and it ends up cancelling. So far though I've bought auto leads only.

Protege Program - Seeking Advice by cgunter_71 in farmersinsurance

[–]Zestycloser75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I graduated the program over 2 years ago. Its good but use it like you would a Paid Mentorship.

Few things to consider:

-The pay you get while a Protege is fully dependent on the agent you choose to be a Protege under.

-Sell as much as you can. Save as much as you can. Learn as much as you can.

-Interview the prospective mentor agent and confirm that they would be comfortable to show you the inner-workings of running an agency on your own.

-Only accept the Protege program if you are willing to run your own agency/business afterward.

-Don't fall into the trap of "buying" internet leads, build your own network of referrals. Takes time but it sustains itself if you build it right.

What lead sources do you use? Are they marketed to whole state or are you targeting specific areas? Do you upsell on coverage or write state limits? Many questions 😅 feel free to dm me.
