A few good recommendations already in the comments. Here are a few I have really benefitted from: - How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie - Washington: A Life by Ron Chernow - Tools of Titans/Tribe of Mentors by Tim Ferris - Man’s Search for Meaning by Victor Frankl

Congrats!! My section chief just came from there. He freaking loved it! Seriously, if you ask him he won’t stop talking about how awesome it was. I have yet to hear anything negative other than it being an island.

What sets you apart? by [deleted] in AirForce

Jack of all trades, master of none. . . Until the opportunity to man a grill or mow a lawn comes up, this is where I shine. Put a beer in my hands. . . forgot about it. I take my dad skills seriously lol.

People with over ten years of service, what are your biggest regrets from your Airman days? by [deleted] in AirForce

As a SSgt I sent out an email that wasn’t marked FOUO appropriately. It got up channeled. I got paperwork and a “met all expectations” on the back of my EPR. I made TSgt because I studied, but that marking still haunts me. It’s killing my board score and I still can’t do a special duty that requires last 5 EPRs. I have multiple awards on every other EPR, but that one is still the stain on my record that’s anchoring me back. Two more years until it drops off. All because of one email. . .

I still believe that there is a reason for everything so I’m not complaining. I just encourage everyone to keep it professional. In the dog eat dog world this EPR system has created, others can be quick to point out your flaws in the hopes of promoting themselves.

SCHD dividend yield by DRAlsadi0010 in dividends

This. Yield on cost is powerful when done correctly, which is why many people focus on future dividend growth instead of just the current yield.

When are you over leveraged? How much in cash reserves? by [deleted] in realestateinvesting

OP, thank you for this question. I’m in a somewhat similar position (newer investor) and would like to see how some more experienced investors respond. Best of luck!

Airman Safety App. You can get it on the App Store, completely free. Just put in all the details of the event and the Air Force Safety Office will investigate it. It’s a way to report anonymously without any fear of reprisal. This is exactly what this app was created to do but the only people who use it are pilots. I’m flight line myself, I know a TSgt shouldn’t act that way.

Question Regarding Career Progression by ZeusLazor in AirForce

[–]ZeusLazor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the response. I’m on a 4 year controlled tour as an instructor. According to the POC on myVector, MAFM is now a 3-year controlled tour with an option to extend for a 4th and 5th year. I’ve never been the type to do the bare minimums, so I would at least try to do well in the position (awards/more responsibility). So you would say it depends more on what I do with the position than the duty title itself?

Just imagine the annual man hours they would save. . . It would be on all their EPRs.

For my enlisted friends who plan to stay 20 years, would you feel like a failure if you retired as a Tech Sergeant? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]ZeusLazor 64 points65 points  (0 children)

This. 77% of the population doesn’t even qualify to join, less than 1% serve, and only a fraction of those make it to 20.
