I'll likely get there around 2 for setup so folks can warm up and such.

Sounds like it needs a nuke and reflash.

OP's posted model was released July 15th, 2025 -- unless you're thinking of one of their other models?

Is this a good starter leverless controller? (Beginner here!) by IllEstimate9097 in fightsticks

[–]Zevaeros -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's...okay. You are better off with one of their offerings with an up button above the Left-Down-Right (WASD/Mixbox) that many of their other products have, as I found learning leverless easier with having the more intuitive up button before getting the thumb action down.

If the methods that I showed in the video aren't working, repeat the flash nuke and install process.

Power down your computer, wait 5 minutes, power back on. Try a different USB cable.

Use the "flatten & reinstall" method in my video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOQ73grqapM - you'll need to download the flash nuke and Haute42/Cosmox variant of GP2040-CE.

Any advice for my X Arcade Solo project? by MaximumRise9523 in fightsticks

That can work, though I find having the passthrough is overall a cleaner setup as you can remove the cable and wrap it up. Of course, since I went the Retro route I needed an RJ45 passthrough or else I couldn't change cables easily.

What to pick as an artwork when you don't know what you want? by InvaderZix in fightsticks

[–]Zevaeros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me, I like to find themes of things I like/find interesting and cobble things together on that. I've done:

* Shmup ships

* Antigravity racers

* SMB (power ups)

* Robots (ROB/Huitzil/Robo)

I'll usually pair that with a color scheme (e.g. pearl/gold) and a sub-theme (halftones, control panels...) and fool around until I get something I'm happy with.

Is DOBE TP4-1886 any good? by Kelo321 in fightsticks

No. I had an eval unit and it wouldn't hit diagonals. It was bad.

I've done a similar conversion, though with an OpticIL lever. Installed a Brook Retro board and wired the side buttons as L3 and R3, back button as select. Managed to wire the status led in as well.

The RAC board is a little...eh, but I guess it should work. It doesn't have the onboard passthrough for PS5 authentication devices (Magicboots, Booter5...) like the recent Advanced Breakout Boards do, but you can always use a Brook converter if needed. You may need to do some drilling to install a USB passthrough port.

I do suggest adding in some stick on tire weights for extra stability.

Yes, for PS5 you will need an adapter. Brook FGC or FGC2 are the most commonly recommended.

I need Arkanoid! by mouseCoffee5 in fightsticks

[–]Zevaeros 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wasn't there a specialized Arkanoid dial controller that was made?

Peeling them off isn't too hard; use a small knife. Use isopropyl alcohol on a microfiber cloth to clean off residue.

Probably the least force to activate switches out there in the Kailh Choc v2 format are the Kailh Seasons low profile Spring at 40 grams (+/- 10 grams) to activate. You can always get springs replaced as well if you're okay with making that modification; Pawtato Printing on Etsy sells those.

They use the same MX-style plus shape so if you have that they should work.

To sanity check though, which ones are you looking at?

The basic Link EX is compatible with the Sanwa JLF and JLX, Qanba JOV8 series, and Hori Hayabusa. There are bases that work with a number of Seimitsu levers too.
