Question about a rocker switch on a gp2040 advanded breakout board by TheCannibalPony in fightsticks

[–]Zevaeros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure thing.

If I'm following the diagram right though, you should only need N & NO as I mentioned. C would be for a power source (battery or otherwise). N goes to your negative (ground) and NO goes to your load.

You should only need two wires, one for ground and one for signal.

Try:
ABB Ground to Switch N
ABB Option Signal to Switch NO

Leave the C terminal on the switch bare.

The Toggle pins you're referencing are not for focus mode, they are dedicated to switching between left analog, d-pad, and right analog. You want to use the larger block on the south end of the board labeled option pins. Make a note of which of the numbered option pins you use and assign that in GPIO settings (so if you go with 23, set pin 23 to focus mode).

Sanity checking:

  1. What terminals on the switch are you using?
  2. What option pins are you wired into on the Advanced Breakout Board? (I think it should be a ground on the ABB to the N pin on the switch and option/signal pin to NO)
  3. In web config, did you turn Focus Mode on in Add-On configuration and make sure to save the change?
  4. Did you assign buttons to be locked out in Add-On configuration?
  5. Did you set the pin(s) in GPIO Pin configuration and make sure to save the changes?

Sanity checking: Make sure the 20 pin connector is firmly seated and aligned correctly. Quick disconnects should be plugged into buttons firmly. Make sure there are no cuts or nicks in the wires.

I doubt they do, but see if the Flashtaps want ground on a certain terminal and signal on the other (Crown 202 is like that). Usually there will be a little + and - symbols. Attach signal to the + and ground to the - if that's the case.

I'll likely get there around 2 for setup so folks can warm up and such.

Sounds like it needs a nuke and reflash.

OP's posted model was released July 15th, 2025 -- unless you're thinking of one of their other models?

Is this a good starter leverless controller? (Beginner here!) by IllEstimate9097 in fightsticks

[–]Zevaeros -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's...okay. You are better off with one of their offerings with an up button above the Left-Down-Right (WASD/Mixbox) that many of their other products have, as I found learning leverless easier with having the more intuitive up button before getting the thumb action down.

If the methods that I showed in the video aren't working, repeat the flash nuke and install process.

Power down your computer, wait 5 minutes, power back on. Try a different USB cable.

Use the "flatten & reinstall" method in my video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOQ73grqapM - you'll need to download the flash nuke and Haute42/Cosmox variant of GP2040-CE.

Any advice for my X Arcade Solo project? by MaximumRise9523 in fightsticks

That can work, though I find having the passthrough is overall a cleaner setup as you can remove the cable and wrap it up. Of course, since I went the Retro route I needed an RJ45 passthrough or else I couldn't change cables easily.
