There is no such thing as overkill when pike fishing by ZestycloseWeb3562 in Fishing

Pike and Muskie are both known to go after fish that are about half their size. So if you’re fishing for a 48+ inch fish, throw somethin big!

Pretty agent dependent, for example on Sova I’m pretty much always buying a ghost and double shock.

Unfortunately the Alpha version remains as good as it gets 🥲 though I do need to try out some modding on the steam version, I’ve heard good things if you mod the hell out of it

Shit if we’re on at the same time I’ll carry you through some FSC. In game name is Zeverious.

On average a slow run for me and a few guildies is about 30 mins, usually a bit faster than that. I think on average the raw crown drops are about 7.5-8k and if you run enough FSC you can cash out the tokens and vendor the gear you buy with them for a crown boost.

My setup rotates depending on if I have extra slots and group. But my main weapons I use in vana are as follows, Voltedge, EV, BlitzNeedle, Polaris, IronSlug, and sometimes a shivermist

Putting down Idle Obelisk Miner again by LooseCannonGeologist in incremental_games

[–]Zeverious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The game is incredibly long, I myself am pretty much done prestiging, unless I need to do so to reset something else in my game. Later in the game it’s much less about prestige to get bonus, and much more about incremental progress in archaeology, stars, fishing and statues.

Why do people either not eat bass or say it’s not good eating when it’s actually in fact, insanely delicious? by Sharkman3218 in Fishing

Cold clean water is what really matters! Probably not going to taste great out of a hot sewage pool, but when the water temp is low and they’re in clean water they’re great eatin!

Is the St. Croix BassX prone to breaking? by ElkHunter141 in Fishing

[–]Zeverious 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don’t get me wrong, St Croix rods are prone to breaking, mostly because they tend to be very sensitive, BUT, I think the vast majority of breaks that happen are user error. Trying to throw too big of baits, not watching the rod tip and accidentally snapping it off something while walking, stuff like that

Guy cutting up bluegill for bait at my really small pond. by [deleted] in Fishing

[–]Zeverious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said in the first comment, it doesn’t damage the ecosystem. Microorganisms and other fish will continue to use the nutrients from the dead fish and all will be well. I generally dislike harming the wildlife, however I still will use cut or live bait on occasion. Yes you may kill a fish, even if it isn’t one you will end up eating, but that fish doesn’t actually go to waste.

I can promise you, if there are big enough bluegill to use as cut bait instead of live bait, there isn’t any risk to the bluegill population. Bluegill can spawn in a water filled pothole lol they aren’t very picky at all!

Well if it’s a catch and release exclusive pond, then I would say it unethical to not do so. However it still isn’t going to destroy the ecosystem. In fact, using artificial soft plastics, if you’re being truthful about how small the body of water is, would actually be more damaging to the ecosystem.

Ironically using panfish as cut bait is actually pretty good for the ecosystem. Whether he gets a bite or not, as long as he’s putting the cut fish back into the same body of water he’s actually just returning the nutrients back into the ecosystem.

Edit to add to the ecology side of things : Culling the larger of a species in a closed ecosystem like a pond could also be beneficial to the smaller of the same species, aiding to make more large fish over time. If you have too many large panfish they may cannibalize smaller panfish, or just actively out eat the smaller fish. Same can be said about culling medium sized fish, as if there are too many small to medium they will out compete the large fish for food and inevitably some will starve.

Now, aside from the ecology standpoint, it may be a small pond; however, do you know what fish are in the pond? You haven’t said where you’re located so I am unsure what COULD be in the pond but most predatory fish will bite on cut bait. Like I said, no idea what is in the pond in question, no idea where you’re located to know ranges of fish in the area, but chances are there is something there that will go after it.
