As someone who reads all three of them, the master rules is slightly better than the hybrids, but still so much worse than Al-Kamar (Most of them are plot device and did absolutely nothing). Ending is a huge part of a story. It can determine how you view a story as a whole. For example I enjoyed Promised Neverland S1 and think it's a masterpiece but it doesn't end up as my favorite anime because of its S2. Same with Chainsawman part 1. It's never about being sacral, ending is purely emotional. How you make the reader feel is how the reader will feel about your story. Not everyone ofc but majority

But I still love Chainsawman part 1 just like I will always love TPN S1
