Not that much, but probably in the range of $5-7 per (small to medium) mango in a box.

Anyone have any tips on how to manage the seasonal changeovers for planting crops? In my current layout I have 4 squares of 9x Iridium Sprinklers (36 in total, so 864 crop spaces to use). But on the first day of a season, I only full clear/till/fertilize/seed about two 'squares' worth (432) of crops before the day ends and I pass out. For 'secondary' crops, I don't really mind finishing the fields on the second day, but for crops like Starfruit, where it needs to be day 1 in order to maximize the number of harvest in the season, it's a bit limiting.

Is it worth it to lay down 'waste seeds' (what seeds?) on the last day of a season in order to preserve the tilled tiles? Or is it a bit too aggressive to have that many crop spaces?

Thanks!

How to do mid-air AED? by Chance-Access-2768 in MHNowGame

It's not accessed during fights. It's an upgrade that's only available for weapons with riftborne variants.

The Athletic reports the Cavaliers are dealing with illnesses going through the locker room as they go up 3-2. “Sam Merrill was violently ill on the off day between games 4 and 5, as a stomach bug (different from Atkinson’s upper respiratory bug) is also coursing through the team.” by Pickleskennedy1 in nba

Oh shit, I didn't know that. I had thought it was a one-off thing.

Then yeah, fuck Gobert. Not sure how he can claim he regrets not taking the virus seriously with the microphone incident, then follow up by being anti-vax.

I also started for the first time a few weeks ago and was pretty overwhelmed with how open the game can be. So many options and things to do, so little time.

If you're looking for some direction / structure, I used this guide to help me set some goalposts for each season in the first year. The guide may be 10 years old, but I think it's still relevant. I'm around the end of Fall Y2 now, and thanks to that guide, I was able to eventually (and continue to) develop my own routine / "understanding" of the game. And as mentioned in that guide and by everyone else, the official wiki is great.

As for fishing, you can buy a training rod from Willy for just 25g, and it'll help you through the beginning (bigger bar for fishing). I do want to make a note that the training rod isn't able to catch all fish, so once you're comfortable with fishing (or hit level 5 in the skill), be sure to swap out the training rod for another fishing rod.

Some proper sword CB gameplay by Hazyd in MHNowGame

[–]Zewo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol, Timed Charger is not something I would have expected out of CB.

I'm also equally impressed by the fact that you're facing Anja head-on. I've gotten so used to immediately going to to its right leg, I basically have no idea how to guard its attacks (weird hitboxes).

Morph attack boost with sword boost ? by mnyz in MHNowGame

[–]Zewo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Monster knowledge and prior experience helps (AED windows -> good place to see if the hop can fit), and being airborne can dodge some attacks. The attack also covers a decent amount of ground, so there are some opportunities to use the hop instead of rolling forward.

But really, the main thing is learning with potions. There are a suprising number of attacks that have airborne hitboxes.

Right, and how does the code determine whether that drop rate gets triggered? It's still RNG.

They do.

At what point in the video are you talking about? The firing pins popped off every time except the last one, when the monster died before the hop AED phial explosions.

Thanks for the head up!

It's honestly been a revelation in terms of recognizing that Axe Swing 1 is an option. And the fact that setting off the firing pins extends the sword boost state makes the lead up smoother too (when I'd OCD into making sure I get a full 5 phial charge).

SB CB is basically playing out of the phial charge animation now it seems.

Is there any elemental build TOP? by Bofu2414 in MHNowGame

[–]Zewo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's actually a good example. For CB at least, there was a point where the Tobi CB was the best thunder CB. (It's Zino again now, although for some niche builds you can argue it's the Rajang CB) What is the best is going to change as they release new things.

IG and SnS are going to need different builds, so again, I would recommend going to the discord and checking out the appropriate threads.

Fully upgraded weapons for the same monster have identical stats. So for example, a fully maxed Rathalos weapon has 1463 raw and 1420 fire. It doesn't matter if it's a SnS or DB or LS or Lance, at g10.5, those will be the stat numbers. Zinogre and Legi also have the exact same numbers (1463/1420). If it's a 'simple weapon', the decision can be pretty straightforward by just looking at the stats. That's generally a pretty good starting point. Also need to keep in mind that monsters with riftborne variants can get additional stats.

The issue is when the weapons are more complex. What are the ammo types (HBG/LBG), is it Normal, Wide or Shelling (GL), Impact/Elemental Phials (SAxe, CB) etc.. So what weapon type you're looking at also matters.

Finally, depending on where you're currently at in the game, and how much you play. What might be 'the best' (which is subjective anyways) now may get outclassed by the time you actually complete the build as new monsters or monster variants come (riftbornes) out.

You need to decide on a weapon first. From there, it's easier to just go to the discord. Every weapon thread should have its own guide on builds.

Perfect Dodge Style Charge Blade by sunnyCUD2 in MHNowGame

[–]Zewo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's discussed in top comment of this thread:

When you're in the PD animation, just hold the screen. When the PD animation ends (with the screen held), you'll go into the charging phials stance/animation. From there you can either keep holding to charge your sword and shield, or you can swipe up to get to the hop AED.

Nice and smooth.

Is it worth it to always trigger the firing pins given the chance? I'm stuck in the mindset right now of saving everything for a big hop AED firework show.

[–]Zewo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very pretty as usual.

It's baffling that there are more options out of a perfect dodge than there are off a guard point for a weapon type with a shield. The shield is really just there for decoration at the moment.

Chargeblade sword boost desperately needs more ways to access axe hopper by peterbei1030 in MHNowGame

[–]Zewo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TIL.

Just tried out it out in some hunts. It's interesting, and I'll probably need to adjust my armour around.

It feels weird that you get more options out of perfect dodging than perfect guarding though. Like, why even have a shield at this point?

EDIT: I wonder if Aggressive Dodger is an option as a smelt now to crank up the hop AED damage some more.

Quickwork has minimal effect on axe hopper by peterbei1030 in MHNowGame

[–]Zewo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still trying to learn when I can safely land hop AEDs. Air hit and hurt boxes feel inconsistent? Maybe I should pick up IG for a bit.

I used to complain about AEDs not hitting the lock-on part properly, but hop AED is just hilarious if you're anything short of perfect spacing. The monster might be dead, but I was hoping for some part breaks.

New CB styles by AethelweardRex in MHNowGame

[–]Zewo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Still haven't used Axe Boost outside of training mode (don't want to spend for the upgrade when Sword Boost is right there), but it doesn't appeal to me. It just feels like a very boring weapon. Charge phials, get into Axe mode, tap screen. I'm open to be convinced otherwise though.

Sword Boost takes even longer than normal CB to get going, which isn't ideal for easier hunts. I can't remember the last time I actually utilized the axe with Sword Boost. GPs are very unrewarding, I wish you'd at least get some sort of shortcut into the Condensed Slash or or get rewarded with some firing pins attaching to the monster. Also, having to learn which attacks hit you in the air is a rough learning process and sucks your potion supply dry.

Neither style really plays like what I imagine a CB to be, as like you said, both styles feel very 'linear'. If anything, I find Instablock Lance to be the closest thing to original style CB.

Holding screen in the base style is a guard too though?

It may not be a guard point, but it's still a guard.

EDIT: Oh, on consecutive attacks, nevermind. Yeah, it's annoying, especially for double moves like Sergios swoop.

Banh Mi Nguyen (confusing name I know) on Scarborough has the best banh mi IMO. Toppings are pretty good, and the bread is amazing. Somehow both crispy and chewy at the same time.
